WINSTON-SALEM, NC. A historic and dynamic era of student leadership has arrived in Ram Country! We are incredibly proud to celebrate Kahlen Gordon, a Nursing major and rising junior hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, who has been elected as the Junior Class President at Winston-Salem State University for the 2026–2027 academic year. Kahlen’s campus footprint has reached powerful new heights as she also celebrates becoming a Spring ’26 initiate of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

A HISTORIC RETURN TO THE REEVALS. Juggling executive student governance and the intense, rigorous curriculum of a Nursing degree speaks volumes about Kahlen’s drive. Her initiation carries monumental significance, as she stands as a Charter Member of the Phi Epsilon Chapter, which was officially chartered on April 12, 2026, marking a historic and highly anticipated return for the sorority to the WSSU campus. Deeply passionate about maternal health, Kahlen aspires to focus her career on Labor & Delivery before ultimately serving as a Nurse Midwife.

THE PLATFORM: “A NEW ERA”
As President, Kahlen is on a mission to completely elevate the college experience for the Class of 2028 through three structured pillars:
E — Events: Strengthening class engagement and unity with vibrant, memorable campus programming.
R — Resources: Providing students with the exact academic, professional, and personal support needed to thrive.
A — Accountability: Promoting complete transparency, active communication, and responsibility within student leadership.

THE ROAD AHEAD. From the bustling streets of Atlanta to the hallowed grounds of Winston-Salem, Kahlen Gordon is the definition of grace under pressure. Backed by a historic sisterhood and armed with a visionary platform, she is uniquely equipped to advocate for her peers, break down barriers, and ensure the Junior Class moves forward with unwavering confidence.

Congratulations to the Junior Class President and Devastating Diva, Kahlen Gordon! Continue to enter this “New ERA” with heart, protect the culture, and make a lasting impact at WSSU!

Today, a few of us Winston Salem State University students, led by Ms. Chelli Broussard, had the privilege of attending the 2025 Citizenship, Service, Networking & Partnerships (CSNAP) Student Conference! 💫
We joined 60 student leaders from 13 campuses across North Carolina to explore how to spark more joy, connection, and belonging through civic engagement. We proudly brought home the Most Spirited School Award! ❤️🐏

“Today, we received an order funded by our very first parent donation. Not long ago, warm messages from alumni reminded me why I pursued my passion and started this organization in the first place, and this donation makes that reminder feel even more real” -Starz Founder and President Kahlen Gordon

I really enjoyed creating this video project to help first-year students navigate their college transition. I have the amazing privilege of advising these students in our NexGen Themed Learning Community, and it was so meaningful to highlight their stories. The video is grounded in student development theory, showing how identity, growth, and support all play a role in the first-year experience. Hope y’all enjoy this guide as much as we enjoyed making it! ♥️ #CollegeLife #LLC #FirstYearSuccess #StudentDevelopment #AcademicInitiatives
