No plans to wake up.

A port of call, a place for exchange: flowing currents, shapeshifting spirits. Smooshed between the Italian Baroque frescoes and the mid-80s Italodisco vibes, floating between a slightly tired early 2000s remodel and the mass-produced tourist kitsch of 2026, this palace of history shows me one thing: like a map, the city doesn’t document a singular truth, but rather traces the consistently changing cultures, borders, and relations. A place where the world’s cosmologies collide: from Uruguay to Lithuania to Beijing… from Indigenous embroidery techniques to mythic creatures of a world beyond to scales of deep time… spritzes in campos and overcrowded vaporettos and 200,000+ steps a day. We are under water, and yet, there is still a glimmer… an inspired possibility of what we can be imagined, what can be built, when we wait and listen, together.

I have not seen a single cherry blossom tree yet but I have met people who are truly outstanding.
Seoul, four days in.

Thank you @art_ono_seoul and everyone who joined our booth presentation this year!

I have met and spoken to so many people.
Glad to now call some of them friends, happy to reconnect with others, and truly grateful for everyone who welcomed us so warmly.

Eight hours a day of constant conversations, meeting new people and sharing the vision behind two outstanding artists.
Afterparties, dinners, gallery visits and openings.
Back at the hotel not before 1am, working until 3am, getting 4 to 5 hours of sleep and repeating.

People came from all over the world.
I did not meet a single person from Austria, but from Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Doha, Riyadh, Toronto, Paris, Seoul, Busan, Tokyo, Cologne, Düsseldorf, London, Taipei, Bangkok, Milan, just to name a few. WOW.

There was great interest in our mission.
Great fascination with the work of Wolfgang Walkensteiner and Tuck Muntharborn.

@artstudio_walkensteiner @tuckbkk

A strong commitment to what we presented.

Now many projects are already unfolding.
I need to set clear priorities, deciding what comes first and what I start working on immediately.

Big things are coming.
Strong projects will follow.
International scope. Long term vision. Execution.

Exhibited in the special exhibition “Alternative Computations — Worlds Otherwise Calculated” at the Quantum Art Festival (Jan 29 – Feb 1, 2026). The installation was experienced by more than 4,500 visitors over four days.

Alternative Computations, 2026
The universe computes. Life is computation. Mathematics is the language of this understanding. Change the language, the universe changes — the way of seeing changes. Sometimes, those in power choose which way of seeing prevails. What falls outside that choice is named error — and vanishes.
Japan once possessed a distinctive mathematics — wasan. Calculation practised as beauty, play, and offering to shrines: festive knowledge comparable to haiku and the tea ceremony. In the late nineteenth century, the Meiji government introduced Western mathematics in pursuit of national strength. Wasan was expelled. The cosmos its culture alone could see was closed.
At the destination Western mathematics has since reached stands quantum computing — yet its development is governed by utility and optimisation. Quantum noise is expelled as error. But quantum noise interferes, entangles, carries the past. There is another cosmos. This work recaptures it through the play and festivity of wasan.
The Alternative Computations series sculpts the cosmologies of lost vernacular mathematics. Built from quantum noise discarded by mainstream computing, this automated instrument takes sky, earth, and human as its three-layer structure. Twenty-eight sangi orbit overhead as the Twenty-Eight Lunar Mansions. A tatami floor defines the sacred threshold. More than four thousand reeds fill the space. The dancer’s movements, the tea master’s gestures, audience presence, and meteorological data are thrown into a quantum computer embedded in the ceiling’s sangi mechanism. High-dimensional dynamics set the sangi’s orbits and descend as rain sound. Mechanical creaking holds the weight of matter, anchoring experience between dream and waking. Thunder, wind, insects, cranes and frogs — a 28-minute sound collage. Each cycle ends a universe; another begins.

It’s the last week of our Water Futures exhibition! This Friday, January 30th, is your last chance to see the exhibition on the main floor (downstairs is no longer available) 🌀

This week, our gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 12-6pm, we will be closed on Saturday (1/31).

Water Futures emerges from a simple but disarming premise: we are all bodies of water, in constant flow with the world around us. Not discreet. Not contained. Fluid, leaky, unstoppable, interwoven with ecosystems, infrastructures, and histories far beyond our own.

Water Futures is an exhibition in collaboration with the Hydrocolonialsim Institute and tiat💧Featuring artists @matthewcaren @jorjicowan @helo.gry @dqgorelick @toshihoo @liza_bender_arts @jia.bao.li @jor__art @_hila_mor @gregniemeyer @kaironoetic @airmailfromformosa @yehwan.yen.song @kohterai @nosuchtim @wu.kj and more

This has been such a special exhibition, come see it before its gone 🌊
