At TIFF, Till the Milk Runs Dry turns Bharatanatyam into something more than performance.

Kalainithan Kalaichelvan’s Tamil-language short follows a young dancer whose body, ambition, and future become the centre of a much deeper conflict — one about sacrifice, control, and the cost of devotion.

The film is quiet, intimate, and powerful, using movement and silence to ask who gets to decide what a body must give in the name of art, family, and expectation.

A major moment for Tamil cinema at one of the world’s biggest film festivals.

Doing cartwheels about today’s news, just announced... THE GYMNASTS OF FISHERMAN COLONY is coming to theaters!

We will debut in NYC October 23 at @DCTVny before expanding to more than 20 cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Houston, Cleveland, Santa Fe, Toronto and more.

The award-winning documentary, directed by @habibanosheen, produced by @amarl and executive produced by @Malala Yousafzai, @TheRealMariskaHargitay and @TrishAdlesic, is an intimate coming-of-age story of three teenage girls in Pakistan whose discovery of gymnastics opens an unexpected new world while bringing their struggles with being undocumented to light.

I'm so honoured to share that earlier this week I won a CASMA for "Best Original Score, Animated Series or Special" for @thomasandfriends: All Engines Go's Special: Sodor Sings Together! 🏆
I'm just over the moon about actually receiving one of these because the honour comes from a jury of my peers, the composers and colleagues who understand the craft and the work behind all of it. I'm still buzzing from such joy in the room that day and night.
This one is extra special. Sodor Sings Together is the final movie of All Engines Go, and it's my final hurrah on this show. To close this Thomas chapter with a CASMA is something I'll treasure. 💛
Congratulations to my fellow nominees. It's an honour to share this space with you, and your work inspires me.
I also want to highlight the amazing songwriters who brought their talents to All Engines Go, especially Julie Fader & Graham Walsh and @mattouimetmusic & @avakaymusic , who have wonderful songs in this special. 🎶

A nice bonus to present a couple awards that night with my beautiful co-hosts too.

my #tiff26 was interrupted by my sick body. i knew i wasn't gonna be able to do the most. but i thought i would be able to do more than i did. but alas, my body said, "nope!" my body said, "sit your ass down!" my body said, "please listen." so i did. the following is a little story, please read to the end if you can. this is especially for the crip and chronic girlies. as @farrahsafiakhan taught me. 🤍💕🤍

this was me before the flare-ups came. i was feeling real cute on saturday evening! sunday evening was a different story. (i still looked cute 🤭, i just didn't feel so cute. 🥲)

i was so grateful to receive a pass late in the game c/o of my friend @prasran! (grateful to and for you, Pras! 🥹💕) i was determined to make the most of it. i am sad i couldn't. ❤️‍🩹

i kept it on me the whole time. it was both easy and hard. easy cause i feel supported by this little big lanyard. hard because disclosure is still something i am getting used to. for the first time in my life, i used the accessibility line to pickup my pass. i was having a flare-up that day, so it helped a lot. i was able to sit down and wait. what a seemingly small but very big moment. thank you to David from the @tiff_net team for being so kind, affirming, and supportive. 🥹🙏🏽

i made it to opening night! this was from me waiting for my brother. i took this photo to show him where to meet me. we had a lovely night, he bought me popcorn and pop and i was very happy to spend some time with him. i love you @ahrunt. 💕

the film we watched!

i took friday off to work from home and then met up with my fellow scarborough tamil aunties 🤭 and we had the sweetest night 🥹. i love them so much. more than words can say. real big anbu between us. what blessings they are. two of my biggest in this little big lifetime. 💕

Calling it a wrap on TIFF early because even though my heart is so happy my little bipolar brain can’t take another day of excitement✨😂

What a whirlwind of a week. I feel so lucky to have had to opportunity to collaborate with such amazing artists. @kahn.zarrar and @madhashmi thank you for trusting me with this film. A HUGE thank you to @povfilm for creating a space for this film to be made. Working with the participants of the inFOCUS program was such a blast and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

I have so much more to say but I’m trying to keep it brief… I’ll leave the full ramble for another time.

Thank you. Truly from the bottom of my heart I never thought I’d get here but here I am.

Once in a blue moon us composers get out of our pyjamas and actually go out! Thank you @screencomposers for putting on such a vibrant event ✨

It was a privilege to be a panellist at the Screen Composer Summit this year amongst very talented peers. And to top it off, the evening at the Canadian Screen Music Awards was incredible, a room full of support and celebration for each other’s work and a shared love for film and music.
It was lovely getting to see so many composer friends in one place.
