Dear Softball,

Since the moment I was able to pick up a softball I was hooked. My family found a home in you and you never let us down. From watching my sisters play, keeping book in the bleachers, and playing kickball at tournaments, to playing 7 games in one day, late night/early morning hitting sessions, hours of tears, sweat, joy, and hard work; I have always loved you. You have taught me that life isn't easy. You have taught me how to win with humility and lose with grace, to give it my all every pitch, to enjoy a game and compete through life. The families and friendships you have given me over the years are things that are unmeasurable.

To my family, we have given our hearts and time to this sport and in return, it has given us memories. Y'all's support has kept me smiling and has allowed me to always hang on to my morals and beliefs. Thank you for the sacrifices made which allowed my dream to come true and for being at every stepping stone of my life. I love y'all❤️

To UNT Softball, thank you for being my home. Thank you for allowing me to achieve my childhood dreams and taking a chance on me. The fans, the families, and the support you have given me through the years is unmatched. I would not want to wear any other color or support any other softball program because I know I have the best one!

Although I knew my days with softball were limited, I prayed the day I had to hang up my cleats would be delayed. This is not a goodbye to softball, but a see you later. You will forever be in my life and be one of my true loves.

as the saying goes, all good things come to an end. who would’ve thought when I quit tee ball all those years ago, that I’d end up playing division 1 college softball.

I knew early on that this was something I wanted to do and I was fortunate enough to be a part of one of the 1.6% that gets to do it. all the credit goes to my parents from taking me to practices, lessons, recruiting trips, and all the sacrifices they made for me to live out this dream. starting out at ucf to finishing up my last 4 seasons at unt where I met some of my best friends and also get to call a new place home. being a part of the mean green is something I didn’t know would impact me for the rest of my life and I am so blessed that I was able to do it. this whole experience has been nothing short of amazing and I’m forever grateful for it. through all the good, bad, and the ugly, I would still go back and do it all over again in a heartbeat. thank you to my parents, brother, coaches, & teammates for believing in me and never giving up on me.

to the next player to wear #11 for the mean green, cherish it. it truly does go by so fast. all the hard work and dedication that got you the opportunity to wear it, will pay off if you play where your feet are and work your butt off day in and day out. earn your trident EVERYDAY and when you’re in my shoes, you’ll look back on it and won’t regret one single second of it.

mean green nation, I’ll see you on the alumni side! as always, #GMG 💚
