Alyssa basically threatened me to attend the Pierrot Awards, and I was too scared of her to say no 😅

But very happy to reunite and celebrate all of my @theatrewinterhaven friends, including my seat mate date Marissa Hebson who won not one but TWO awards! I am so proud of her! Also congratulations to @karina.lebaron for being selected from our Annie cast for a special honor. Unfortunately she had to be off in the land of Canaan for the night with the rest of her family 🌈

Whether I’m on a big stage or by the pool with my friends, singing will always make me smile. ✨

Ok, it’s been about a week now and I’ve had a moment to brew.

It’s been a whirlwind of a process to dream up what Encore Performing Arts’ production of Disney’s Frozen would look like on the stage of the Walt Disney Theatre.

And it took an army of folks to accomplish this monumental production. From my short time at Encore so far, I’ve learned that at the heart of the organization, are the people. The people that are so passionate about their craft, their mission, their storytelling, that we would all volunteer our time and talents to put together something so incredible. And I can’t thank the team enough for making this surreal dream a reality last weekend.

Seeing our cast take their bows to a standing ovation at such a large scale was mind numbing. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the incredible cast, crew, creative team, choir, orchestra, and design teams that committed their efforts to our story. I knew early on that we wanted to craft something that was grand in scale, but still felt intimate and raw to an audience. A difficult balance to achieve, but easy when you have a community willing to follow your vision down this crazy path. I hope you all are as proud of your show as I was each night, seeing the joy and warmth on that stage was infectious!

This post would take hours to craft if I could thank everyone individually, but I’d be insane to not at the very least, shout out our rock stars leading their teams in the rehearsal room with me each night: Clay Price, Malik Van Hoozer, Emily Fincher - I couldn’t have asked for better collaborators, and friends. Talk about a process filled with “yes, and.” It was a joy from start to finish, no matter how many challenges a show this large presented- you all rose above and helped find solutions (especially with such amazing teams supporting each of our work)!

More pictures to come since we are still waiting on more, and I’m terrible at remembering to capture moments, so here are some of the process that were sent my way.

Frozen with @encorecentral was truly insane. Like what do you mean we sold out a bigger-than-Broadway, 2700 seat theater for a weekend?
And we actually managed to mount this incredible show, did three shows, and now it’s over already??

This process was wild and absurd and I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Working at Disney, you get kind of numb to Frozen because it’s everywhere. But really digging into this material, I remember just how much I love it.

So much love to the entire production team, cast, orchestra, choir and tech crew. We really did that.

An unforgettable experience with so many amazing people.

❄️💙LOVE WILL THAW💙❄️ #frozenmusical

‘Gratitude’ is a funny word- and yet, as someone who knows what it took to get here, performing in the Ensemble for Frozen with Encore has genuinely been one of the most gratifying (and transformative) experiences in a while. The journey to making it here was far from easy, but all worth it.

After moving to Orlando in 2023 for Universal Entertainment, I used to go to the Dr Phillips Center many nights alone, standing under the front awning, wishing for just one thing: “to perform on all three stages @drphillipsctr.” And now, after 3 years of hard work, I can finally say I have made that dream came true🌠 So heck yeah— the gratitude (and sense of hope) I’m feeling is very real.

Now, at the beginning of rehearsal, our director Nick asked us to think about a question: “why?”— why are we doing this production, what are we letting go of? In truth: my ‘why’ is to believe in myself again; in my abilities.

For many years I have always been hard on myself, and when you’re constantly surrounded by immense talent, it’s easy to second-guess oneself. But, I think of my family & friends who’ve stuck around & believed in me all these years. Because of them, I have learned to ‘let go’ of past versions of myself that do not serve the present version of who I am. Learned to allow myself to trust in my gifts, in the many hours of work I dedicate to my craft, and believe it would pay off. And now that I’m here, I can say it did.❤️‍🩹
