More photographs from the archives! These are from Kindly Right music video shoots. This is my favorite music video, it’s perfect. Like the old 1930-50’s movies. ….the desert pictures, we’re all having a good time, see? That is until Officer Buzzkill came down on us with the hard dick of law. We had broken ever single rule on their list. (No costume changing, no dogs, no weapons, no tripods, the works) He waited till we were all jazzed up and ready to roll to kick us out. With the cool guidance of @kallibrownn , we did sneak back in when the coast was clear and got our shots - WITH THE APERTURE STUCK WIDE OPEN! (That’s another story) Please, please, please, stick it to the man when ever you can! Hope you enjoy the video!

Join us next Saturday, February 7 at 7:30 PM for In(SITE): Endometric—Inner world building and the birth of a collective media presented by the Center for Aesthetic Research.

Endometric is a multimedia performance that focuses on the conscious manifestation of our deep and sometimes unknown inner worlds. We will explore how the practice of externalizing our inner world can be utilized as imaginative gestures to create and interact with media. Using a multimedia system that includes live sound, image processing, video synthesis, dance, and drawing, a structure is created that allows for spontaneous investigation into how our internal lives are constructed and expressed.

The performance presupposes that our inner worlds are vast and autonomous landscapes, which are just as “real” as the external, material world. These worlds have both always existed and are constantly being constructed. Emerging from movement, sound, and video, we undertake the vulnerable and bittersweet task of passing out inner world experience from the private to the public, thus completing a transfer from thoughts and feelings to external media. Once externalized and witnessed by others, our inner lives fade away, forever changed by the effects of expectation and validation, only to reemerge as artistic media.

Endometric features the following artists:
Kevin Harris (video synthesis/sound)
Chad Eivins (image processing)
Kalliope Brown (movement/performance)
Maureen Keaveny (sound)
Alexis Taylor (movement/performance)
Bret Schneider (sound)

This event is FREE and open to the public. RSVP is encouraged, and can be done by going to bitly/cst-endometric. Seating is first come, first served.

In(SITE), curated by Patrick Alexander, Residency + Programs Manager at Charlotte Street, is a series that showcases contemporary works that push boundaries, take risks, and demonstrate excellence in the performing arts.

liz & i last month at the opening of goddess + gaze, a gallery show we curated with @spectral_collective ~ wedged in between us is our collaborative piece “Fluid Mesh” on bb tv ~ sound by myself and liz & video by liz. life was moving so fast at this time i struggled to rlly soak it all in and i remember being worried i was missing it all ~ the depth, the presence, the joy, the calm. but this morning i woke up feeling so proud of all the work and love and intention we put into it ~ nothing is ever missed if it’s for u i suppose 🤍
