Today we officially dropped our boy off at college and helped turn their dorm room into their new home away from home. Watching my son step into this next season alongside his roommate, who is truly more like a brother, filled my heart with so many emotions. Excitement, pride, joy… and yes, a little bit of that “my baby is really staying here without me” feeling. 🥹😂❤️
But more than anything, I am PROUD.
Boys, you have worked hard to get to this moment, and now it’s time to show yourselves just how capable you are. College is about so much more than classes and grades. It’s about discovering who you are, learning responsibility, building character, creating relationships, and making decisions that will help shape the men you are becoming.
Make us proud, but even more importantly, make yourselves proud. 🙏🏾
Choose your friends wisely. Make good decisions even when nobody is watching. Look out for one another. Hold each other accountable. Stay focused on why you’re there, but don’t forget to enjoy the experience. Laugh, make memories, meet new people, try new things, and take advantage of every opportunity placed in front of you.
And remember you are never too grown to call home! 😂❤️
