Precure fans overseas have pointed out flaws of Star Detective Precure throughout 38 episodes. The think the producers focus a lot on Kurea and Ruruka, which ignore development of Anna and Mikuru. Some of them even complain about arrangement of producers. They warn the production team if the detective duo still no character designer after episode 40,the fans may send complain letter to express their disappointment on the series

The production team chooses plot development and not the regular character development episodes because they want to try something different from Heisei Era. Audiences of Reiwa Era are youngsters that prefer instant progress instead of slow development, leading to some episodes not explaining scents or development clearly
