Congratulations to @kannon.cook for committing to play at the next level at Juco powerhouse Wabash Valley Community College! Kannon is a special type of player - he has qualities that project much farther than the junior college level. His height and frame, his strength and power (105+ mph EVs), his ability to run (6.7 60) and his dedication and his work ethic that only lead to further development, project Kannon into the high D1 to professional level potential. Like most D1-qualified high schoolers, he has made the best decision for himself to work to those levels by choosing the best option to get on the field and build a resume to continue climbing the ladder. The fact that he will have the opportunity to get meaningful time at a Juco program like Wabash is just as honorable, and actually wiser on his part, than him committing to a Division 1 program just to sit and wait his turn and sacrifice time on the field.

I’m so proud of Kannon’s efforts the last few years. He has worked his tail off on all aspects of his game, and really, his entire life. He transformed himself from a softer bodied, insecure young beast - to a confident, charismatic, swaggy, shredded, and chiseled athletic monster. He focused on more than just reps in the cage. He improved his diet, his daily habits, his personality/demeanor/sense of self worth, he developed his speed, his swing, his glove. Kannon did what we ask of every one of our players, but only about 5% (maybe) actually do. He took inventory of his entire existence and formed it around total self development. Couldn’t be prouder and happier for a player to realize all of that effort than this. People say “well deserved” all of the time, THIS is WELL DESERVED.

Congratulations to the Cook family, and especially his dad Steve, who is Kannon’s biggest fan and supporter. I know this means so much to him. And most of all, congratulations to Kannon Cook!! May or may not have teared up typing this one out! So proud of you big dawg!!!!

The end of something I loved to do more than anything with the people I wouldn’t want to do it without. So grateful for all the opportunities and people I’ve meet through this sport and travel ball.🥹🥹

Thank you baseball
It’s hard to even put this into words, but after all these years, I’m finally done playing baseball. Ever since I was a little kid, this game has been my life. This game has taught me more about life than any classroom or teacher ever could and I will forever be grateful for that. Countless long days, late nights, practices, games, road trips, laughs in the dugout, tough losses, big wins... and now it’s all over. Honestly, I don’t think it’s really hit me yet.
I just want to thank everyone who was part of the journey. My teammates who became family, my coaches who believed in me and pushed me harder than anyone, and especially my family for sacrificing so much for me to chase this dream. Thank you for every ride, every conversation after games, every moment you were there for me.
It hurts knowing I’ll never wear the jersey again or step on the field with the same group of guys. Baseball gave me memories and friendships I’ll carry for the rest of my life, and walking away from it is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. Thank you baseball❤️
