Linaje is a transmedia installation of speculative ancestry, still half-woven, unfinished, yet already premiered at Northwestern University (Chicago, Illinois).

It braids the dreamlike, the fictional, and the real to regenerate and reclaim lost ancestries. Drawing from the artist’s own archival materials and found photographs, the work reconstructs a moment that never existed and the ancestors who could never be known.

Because that is the reality for many diasporic people: the lack of access to our roots, to our history, to our ancestries, turns us, without quite meaning to, into bubbles floating alone. Assimilation by default.

Overall, Linaje is a question:
Who do you come from?
