“If you haven’t seen it in person, go check out somebody else’s… cause you’re gonna want one yourself.” 😂🤎 Needed it. Wanted it. Finally got it. From the details and two carrying straps to the matching card holder, the Viola was designed to be something you actually want to carry every day. And hearing someone say it simply makes them “feel put together” is exactly what I wanted from this bag. Tara Taylor accepting the award @tinffestival for Down Home Love. Down Home Love was nominated for 4 awards: Best Short Film - Canada Best Short Film - Canada & USA Best AI Assisted Film (for those wondering this part of the film was to recreate moments lived in Africville, supporting the story line and story telling, flashbacks) Best Film for a Female Director: This is the winning category 🏆 Lots of moving parts and people went into making this short film a winner - From the story written about young love & old love from knowing who your people are to finding true love within your community. This is a home run in terms of storytelling telling about the reality of small communities and love. Without the story written by @scotianstoryteller @_asiah.sparks and @kardeishaprovo this story doesn’t come to life. Thank you to everyone involved in this project and to those who took a chance on me to play Mrs. Brown - one of the leads with @_dani_violette_ & @devonmtaylorr playing the other two leads in this film. A huge thank you to Tara Taylor @afromationmedia for the Black Above The Line Program and @shaileneg for the guidance, coaching and preparation for the short film 🎥 as well as Solitha Shortte for recommending me to the Black Above The Line Program ✨🫶🏽💛 So many other folks were directly involved with the success of this film Andre Anderson @halifaxdirector , @randon.wright , @ryan.gannon.501 and the rest of the cast and crew. If I missed anyone please DM me and I’ll update the post - don’t be mad, it’s not intentional 🤩✨🫶🏽💛 This is your reminder to live your dreams, no matter what that dream is…your dreams were not meant to die with you they are meant to be lived and experienced out loud and don’t forget to always TAKE UP SPACE ON PURPOSE ✨🫶🏽💛 #takeupspaceonpurpose #tinff #filmfestival #winnerscircle #wedidthat

North Preston. The largest historic Black community in Canada. My community. My roots. My forever home. ❤️🖤💛 This weekend was a reminder that North Preston is more than a place it’s a LEGACY. Built on RESILIENCE, EXCELLENCE , and generations of people who continue to rise. We also celebrated one of our own 10-year-old @elayce_clayton ,the No. 1 Hip-Hop WORLD CHAMPION 🥇 proving that GREATNESS is ALIVEand well in our community. What I love most about North Preston is how we celebrate one another. When one person WINS, WE ALL WIN 🏆 I’ve traveled the world, but no place will ever compare to the community that shaped me. North Preston isn’t just where we’re from. It’s WHO WE ARE. Forever proud. Forever North Preston. 🖤✨ #NorthPrestonDay2026 #NorthPreston #LargestHistoricBlackCommunity
