She reminds me of something Bali teaches, every day: life moves… and we are meant to move with it.

Menopause, aging, transition - these are portals.
From performing to embodying.
From pleasing to choosing.
From being needed to being fully ours.

Why can’t these be our golden years? I really want to stop thinking I am becoming less. And realize that I am - truly - becoming more, and more true.

As Niang Soli, 106 years old, says:
“If you stop dancing, you stop living.”

May we - women entering the golden age- keep dancing.
In body, in spirit, in courage. ✨#bali#agegracefully#Niangsoli#womenmenopause #danceforlife

Raja Ampat never ceases to amaze with its diversity, beauty, and thriving communities. It reminds me that I have always been more of a water baby than land, but it also furthers my passion for land based work. Everything we do relates to the ocean, and many of the things we use in our lives unfortunately end up in the ocean. Raja Ampat is one of the last remaining examples of a healthy coral/reef ecosystem because of cold upwelling and currents in the region. It is very remote and has amazing stewardship which gives me hope for reefs around other parts of Indonesia. Great work to all the people that are working hard to protect and conserve such an incredible place!

My computer decided to crap out on the trip, but I will upload more underwater pictures when it’s fixed!

#RCBAforSMPN3MARGA BY #MUDFISHNOPLASTIC

Progress Update!

One of our patients, Lifa, has completed labioplasty surgery recently. She is now on recovery and has been scheduled for her post-op consultation later on this week while the other patients are still waiting for their schedule.

Several days ago, we welcomed Ibu Jenny and Ibu Yvonne at our Smile House. We are grateful that Ibu Jenny spreaded information about Yayasan Senyum Bali so that our patients from North Maluku can finally came here and got the help they needed. 🥰

Nembrotha cristata is a polycerid nudibranch, a marine gastropods mollusk in the family Polyceridae.
They like to feed on coral, sponges, anemones and also enjoy hydroids.
They are poisonous and get their poison from the stinging cells of fallen cnidarians.
This nudibranch can easily find in Tropical Indo-Western Pacific ocean.

Cleaning off the algae from the corals. At this stage, we were not yet confident enough to propagate corals without the actual help of Vincent so all we did was removing any obstacles for the coral growth in order to give the corals a better fighting chance. We were still at learning stage at this time and would have our confidence built up in the next future visits.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The amount of algae covering the corals are getting less and less on each visit and it's not only because we went to clean them but also because the growing population of fish helps reducing the amount of algae. Some of these fish would munch on the macroalgae which makes our job so much easier!⁣⁣

"Love In The Form Of A Butterfly Garden" All plants listed below. This delightful garden at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tarpon Springs was originally spearheaded by longtime member Marti Kardinal in March 2020. Many loyal volunteers have tended the garden these last two and a half years. Everyone has been continually amazed watching the garden grow and evolve over time. As it now reaches maturity in the late Summer of 2022, notice how large several of the plants have become, especially the Blue Porterweed, Stachytarpheta jamaicensis and the "Dwarf" Firebush plant, Hamelia patens.
One of Marti's daughters, Jeni, shared many of the still photos in this video in loving memory of her mom, who passed away December 12, 2020. The stone engraved with the word "Love" is one of the "Five Smooth Stones" located on the other side of the Church down the hill near the "Hope Fountain". Marti was the driving force behind these spiritual art installations as well.
