What a great workshop on Suicide Prevention for Mentoring Male Teens in the Hood!

We had actor Kareem Stroud come in as a guest speaker and talk about his journey as a Black man trying to make it in the industry.

We spoke about having a protection plan, knowing the warning signs of suicide and the youth identified who their safe people and places were. 🙏🏾🫶🏾

Something AMAZING happened last night- we were nominated for 3 awards and… I won BEST DIRECTOR! What a truly surreal experience. I’m so grateful to be able to write, produce, direct, and act in this film with such spectacular talent! So again, I thank my cast & crew, everyone who contributed the dope music, my editors, the parents of the kids, @pasadenafilmfestival and every person who sat thru this film and gave me some type of constructive feedback, I appreciate you. I can be very meticulous, 🙃 so thanks for all your patience! All of you will help me become an even better filmmaker moving forward. ♥️

A few of our youth attended Worship at the Park with Metro COC. Started the morning with a message on prayer🙏🏽 and praise🙌🏽 in James 5:13-16 and then enjoyed food and games.

A few takeaways:
1. We are to always pray for one another in our struggles and sickness. Prayer offered in faith is powerful. 🙏🏽
2. We are to praise in happiness. 🙌🏽
3. Be transparent with one another in our sins so that we can be healed and encouraged. Don’t make anyone feel they are alone.
4. Do not confuse praying through sin without a behavior change with being the same as repentance. Repentance is needed for obedience and changed behavior.

Thrilled to finally share the @att spot we shot in February! The cast and crew were beyond amazing – we all connected as friends and artists. Such a fun day with incredible people; during these times, I couldn’t be more grateful for moments like these.

Special shoutout to @sonnenbergcasting for bringing us all together for a special day. Sending big love to everyone in the world right now! ❤️

Loved? Thankful? Finding peace and joy as I get older? Praising God? Accepting compliments? Giving and recieving? Ridding people pleasing? Ridding societal timelines and shame? Having fun? Oh absolutely. 💐🙃
