✨ A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at the opening reception for Funk & Schuster at Rugosa Gallery last Friday! ✨

Between the art, the oysters, and the overwhelming love from our Provincetown and Rugosa families, it was a celebration of creativity and community we’ll never forget. 🖼️🦪🌸🙏

Seeing decades of Vlad’s craft alongside the incredible works of so many talented artists, all exhibited together for the first time— was powerful and inspiring.

The gallery is open daily through Labor Day, and after that, by appointment.

Come experience it in person! 👀

What is a Lithograph? 🖼️

A lithograph is a timeless printmaking technique that artists have cherished for centuries. Unlike digital reproductions, each lithograph is created by hand—drawn directly on stone or metal, then pressed onto paper. This process captures the artist’s gesture, texture, and energy in a way that feels alive.

Come see lithographs created over the last decade by dozens of talented artists and printed by Master Printer Vladimir Schuster at our upcoming show:

Did you know we sell local art? This beautiful painting is by our friend @karenojala and is one of the many wonderful pieces you can find on our walls! Most of our art is available for shipping anywhere in the US, so if you're still thinking about it after you leave your beautiful Vermont vacation, we may still be able to make that dream come true.

“I think that the initial feeling I have about it, is that I want the sculpture to communicate to them (the audience). I don’t want them to need to read a plaque about this..she did this and she did that...”

Renowned sculptor Penelope Jencks recently met with our Board of DIrectors to speak about her maquette of Mary Heaton Vorse. Here’s a behind the scenes look at our conversation. Eventually this full size work will be sited in Provincetown in front of the MHV House, now the home of @provincetownartssociety.

“Though atmosphere is not on the menu, it is the ambiance that surrounds the figure here. They are in turns enshrouded, metaphysical, metaphorical and apparitional.
⠀
A place defines a vision.
⠀
Perception shapes reality, the ambiguities in form reflect the ambiguities of identity.
How the artists see the figure here is intrinsically a matter of place.

Living in Provincetown is to be part of something a bit unworldly, hard to grasp, and it places us, who live and work here within a vanishing perspective and at times, a dream.

Figuratively Provincetown - is an invitation to be a while with the protagonists in that dream.”
- Romolo Del Deo, curator
