42's DINNER COMMUNITY NO.008 We come together as a community to support the local independent restaurant industry, to enjoy their food and each other's company. . The Spring time weather is back and so is the Dinner Community! This month we came together at the husband & wife owned tapas restaurant in Melrose, @tahpas529 (Part of the Tenreiro Hospitality Group's restaurants along with @laqchara @laqcharabeverly and coming soon to Cambridge, @mestizoboston). "Tapas style" small plate restaurants can be found across many cuisines and cultures but it all started with Spanish Tapas. Tonight we started with charcuterie & Cheese boards. Then we passed around plates of Empanadas, Croquetas, and street corn. The entree platters were so large we needed to separate into a paella course and a grilled platter course. Some how at the end, we found room to have churros and cortados. Chef Jay and his kitchen team certainly created a memorable meal for us! The F.O.H. staff was so hospitality and gracious. We were very impressed with their knowledge of their wine selection. . For this month's charity, we collected almost $200 for @projectbread 's Annual Walk For Hunger. Founded in 1969, The Walk for Hunger has been an iconic community movement to make food more accessible and affordable for everyone in Massachusetts! As Project Bread's flagship community event and fundraiser, they come together every first Sunday in May to stride toward a hunger-free future. Thank you @saenzin @becca.saenz for opening your doors and inviting us into your living room that is @hemlockbrookline . To create an experience, like these FIRESIDE dinners you host, is such an intimate, hospitable, dining event that it felt like we had staff of elite personal chefs cooking for just me and my friends... which is kinda what it is. Whether you come with 1 person or 10 people, you always sit with a table full of friends. The beautifully curated menu included ingredients from local farms. Each course was paired with a bottle of wine placed on the table. And one of the most unique parts of the experience is you pay what ever you feel the experience is worth, though it is impossible to truly assign a financial figure to a priceless experience like this. . Make sure you follow @hemlockbrooklineon IG and Eventbrite for future evemts!. .. . . . #SupportLocalBusiness #SupportIndependentRestaurants #SupportThoseThatSupportOthers #Boston #Cambridge #SomervilleMA #Brookline #restaurants #chef #restaurantindustry

42's DINNER COMMUNITY NO.005 We come together as a community to support the local independent restaurant industry, to enjoy their food and each other's company. . Each month I introduce the group to a restaurant, not just because of the food, service and ambiance, but they all have chefs and restaurateurs that do a lot to support the community and their industry. And so I have tremendous respect for the leadership of @portoboston: @papachristos @jonny_mendez & 2x @beardfoundation Winner @jodyadams I've been fortunate to have had opportunities in the past to have conversations with each of them and got to join an intimate food demo event with Chef Adams. . This month at @portoboston Chef @amarilys0610 and her team led us across a culinary journey along the Italian Coast for a delectable variety of foods. We started with the raw seafood platter, then small plates of burrata, meatballs and cauliflower which lead to the entree pasta choices of duck pappardelle, mushroom mafalde, octopus puttanesca, and the bolognese. Oh, and can't forget the rosemary bread! . For this month's charity, we raised funds for the @panmass Challenge to benefit @danafarber, a charity close to the hearts of the Porto team. . . 42's Dinner Community #002. . The community expands! We come together as a community to support the local, independent restaurant industry, to enjoy their food and each other's company. Some were able to make it 2 months in a row and some came for the 1st time. And some of us who are IG friends got to meet IRL for the 1st time! . This meal was very special to me, as I got to introduce and reintroduce people to food from my favorite chef and someone who has had a huge impact on the direction of my career, Chef @louis_dibiccari and his @sub_rosa_boston_ concept. Not only did his menu feature his classic dishes (pita and dips, photo 3) and new unique dishes (Korean turkey leg, photo 6) but he has a line up of small plates from some local micro vendors such as @mimischukadiner Dumplings @koselig_posto arancinis and @dosmanoskitchen pupusas. We finished off Dinner with some desserts including baked goods from @beeda_baking. Big thanks to the team at @wink_and_nod for accommodating us in your beautiful space. . This month we raised an additional $200 that went to support @profritt1060 Boston marathon run to benefit @lovinspoonfuls. Congrats Travis on 4hours 2minute and raising around $8,500! . 42's DINNER COMMUNITY NO.011 We come together as a community to support the local independent restaurant industry, to enjoy their food and each other's company. . To close out the Summer, we enjoyed a tropical Tiki celebration in Cambridge at @wusongroad. Chef Jason Doo has transformed Cambridge's historical "Conductor's Building" into a Polynesian Paradise, evoking feelings of relaxation, escapism, and discovery. And we discovered a lot of amazing food! . We enjoyed a variety of playful takes on traditional Chinese-American dishes: baos, dumplings, Crispy chicken, crab rangoon, bok choy, fried rice, dan dan noodles, coconut bread pudding and Thai tea creme brulee. In a family-style setting, we got to try a little of everything... and then a little more... and then we had left overs! Wusong Road is known for their tiki drinks and drinkware. We ordered a variety of beverages and admired the beautiful cups they came in. . For this month's charity, we collected for @americancancersociety as they challenged people to Bike 300 miles in August. As most of us have been affected by someway in our lives, this is an organization we are proud to support! . 42's DINNER COMMUNITY NO.004 We come together as a community to support the local, independent restaurant industry, to enjoy their food and each other's company. . If you ask me my favorite meal in Boston, I'll typically say the focaccia, broccoli Caesar, pepe e caccio and the milanese at @foxandknife. And my favorite chef, @chefkarenakunowicz is certainly right up at the top, since even before she trained us to be Dumpling ninjas at M+C. So I was thrilled to be able to share this dinner experience with my Community, here at 🦊&🔪. . We got to enjoy all my favorite dishes along with 5 more delicious ones as well. The staff did such an amazing job from organizing this with me,to timing the courses to refilling drinks, and just an elite level of hospitality and friendliness. Everyone was raving about how tasty the food was! . This was also a wonderful choice of location as we are celebrating #PrideMonth. For this month's local nonprofit, we raised over $200 for @bagly_inc an organization committed to creating, sustaining, and advocating for programs, policies, and services for the LGBTQ+ youth community. . -42

Another wonderful Fire Side dinner at @hemlockbrookline! We enjoyed an Italian feast! Artichoke salad, shrimp scampi, eggplant parm, meatballs, garlic knots, Caesar salad and canolis. Each course was paired with bottles of wine for the table (and nonalcoholic drinks for those of us not drinking). As always, the service was top notch! We were joined by our friends @melinaganders and karentek33 and met new friends including @modelmundo. . @saenzin & @becca.saenz I'm sure your ears were ringing down there in Peru as we all talked about how wonderful you both are, how legendary your fried chicken is and how special @bisqcambridge was to many of us. Your team did a wonderful job tonight with the menu and service and we look forward to seeing you soon!

42's DINNER COMMUNITY NO.009 We come together as a community to support the local independent restaurant industry, to enjoy their food and each other's company. . @sicarapizza, in Central Square Cambridge was inspired by Chef/Owner @mlombardijr 's nonna and her hospitality and the food from his time cooking in Umbria, Italy and at Del Posto, NY. Today, Si Cara is a place for family, friends and for the daily celebrations of ordinary life. A perfect place for our community to join together foe an evening! . Yes, Si Cara is a pizza place (personally, it's my favorite pizza I've ever had!). BUT of that's all you got, you'd miss out on so much! We started with fresh sliced prosciutto and a white bean dip with chips. That was followed by orders of fried mozzarella, charred broccoli, fried brussel sprouts and their famous garlic bread (the best!). Somehow we had saved room for their pillowy crust canotto-style pizza; from the traditional pepperoni and the Margherita to the unique spanikopi, mushroom & leeks, and the fried eggplant piccata (my new fav!). Shout out to Chef @jessssngo who wasn't at the oven tonight but was instrumental in setting up this wonderful evening! Typically when we think of American pizza parlors, we don't associate it with great hospitality. But here at Si Cara, it was like we were gathered around the dinning room table at Nonna's house. . For this month's charity, we collected $125 for @susangkomen to help end breast cancer by financing research while supporting those who are currently battling cancer.
