Returning judge @samambaia! 🍎👑 filmmaker Diana Peralta made her debut with De Lo Mio, now part of the Criterion Collection. A 2024 Sundance Labs fellow and one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film,” she’s developing her second feature, No Love Lost, selected for the 2025 NEON x UFO Residency. Now an Assistant Professor at Brooklyn College’s Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema, Diana brings her storytelling expertise to our judges’ panel! ✨

As a performer and artist I love challenges that push me to grow and dream big. @missbigadamsapple and @misscomedyqueen TOTALLY did that for me- nationals this year was so so so big for me. I truly looked forward to it since I left nationals in ‘25. Every goal, plan, idea, scheduling conflict, empty space in my brain was filled with NMCQ. The hyper focus was so very real.

This pageant system is one of the best cults I’ve ever been apart of- I have made so many incredible friends through NMCQ! so many that it makes me emo to think about 🥹 SPOILER ALERT!!! I’ve made the choice to not compete this next year. (I want to push myself to work on creative pursuits outside of the competition for a moment.) I also want to focus on being a kick ass reigning Miss Big Adams Apple (get ready to be mentored the hehe-haha-house down.) If this is something you even REMOTELY think could be interesting let’s talk about it. I have nerded out about this system the last two years and I’m ready to share and help others grow. Applications for New York Pre-lim start September 1st so please touch base to chat before if you’re curious. Spots get swiped up quick! Also- I want to get a diverse AF line-up so BIPOC artist please reach out, let’s chat.
