Cacao Ceremony & Sound Journey ✨

Another magical ceremony guided by Becky @present_moment_meditation

Becky is fully qualified as a Cacao Ceremony Host & Sound Healer and guides these offerings with such authenticity, knowledge and has a really down to earth and grounding energy. 🌍

Like lots of things in the wellbeing industry, especially at the moment, there are trends and bandwagons. We always say to be discerning about who your guide is, what their knowledge and experience is, and where you spend your hard earned money. 💰

Becky is the best in the business! She sources ceremonial grade, fair trade and ethical cacao. She mindfully prepares it, uses the most beautiful vessels for us to drink it out of - all sourced individually. 🍵

She birthed her own shamanic drum which is used as part of the journey to meet Mother Cacao. The sound elements are carefully curated and really add to the magic of the whole experience. ❤️

Our next ceremony at the studio will be January 2027.
Becky also works 1-1 and with small private groups for meditation, cacao and sound healing. Visit her page for more details. 👍🏽

Thank you to everyone who joined us, some familiar faces and new ones. The perfect way to end a busy weekend and take time out for yourself. 🙏🏽

A little Autumn magic at Yoga Borne. 🎃

Pumpkins and gourds, dim lights and candles, warm rooms and that cosy Autumn feeling - we love it! 🤍

We’re embracing the season and creating a little haven from the cooler days and darker evenings.🕯️

There’s something so lovely about stepping inside, feeling the warmth, grabbing a cuppa, settling in and giving yourself permission to nourish yourself for a little while. 🙏🏽

Whether you’re joining us to MOVE, SLOW DOWN, UNWIND, or for one of our specialist classes - we’ve got the cosy, magical vibes covered. ✨

As the days get shorter, it feels even more important to carve out a little time for yourself. 🧡

MOVE
SLOW DOWN
UNWIND

Come as you are.

Keep it SIMPLE 🙌🏽

With so many different Yoga styles, names, levels and approaches out there, choosing a class can sometimes feel like you need a Yoga dictionary just to work out where to start! 😅

And let's face it, life can be pretty full on. Our minds are constantly thinking, planning, remembering and working through our never-ending to-do lists. 📝

The last thing you need is to overthink choosing a Yoga class, too! 🤪

At Yoga Borne, we think it should be simpler.
So we've made it simpler. 👏🏽

❗ You don’t need a Yoga dictionary.
❗ You don't need to know your Vinyasa from your Hatha.
❗ You don't need to understand every Yoga term.
❗ And you definitely don't need to know exactly what your body is capable of before you walk through the door.

Just start with two questions:

🤔 What do I need?
🤔 How do I want to feel?

We've been working behind the scenes to organise our offerings into 4 simple categories:

💪🏽 MOVE
Feel strong & balanced.

🙏🏽 SLOW DOWN
Feel grounded & connected.

🕯️ UNWIND
Feel relaxed & restored.

🤍 SPECIALIST PRACTICE
Feel nurtured & empowered.

Because Yoga isn't one-size-fits-all.
We're all wonderfully different — and what we need can change from day to day, week to week and stage to stage of our lives. 🤗

Some days you want to move.
Some days you need to slow down.
Some days you just need to completely switch off.

There’s a practice for everyone and every-body at Yoga Borne! 👌🏽

And if you're still not sure? That's exactly what we're here for. Ask the studio team or drop an email to hello@yogaborne.com ✉️

👉🏽 Come as you are.
👉🏽 Choose what you need.
👉🏽 Feel the difference.

More info coming soon, or head to the YB website to take a look. 👀

A breath of fresh air 🌬️

There’s something very special about spending time outdoors. The fresh air, the changing seasons, the trees, the open sky… nature invites us to slow down, take a breath and reconnect with ourselves and the world around us. 🙏🏽

Spending time in green spaces can support our mental wellbeing, help us manage stress, lift our mood and remind us that we’re part of something bigger than our busy everyday lives. 🍃

And when we join together as a community in these spaces, something even more special happens. It's a feeling. It's magic. ✨

This weekend, we were invited to a conference celebrating the possibilities of wellbeing, community and Birmingham’s green spaces. 🌳

It was genuinely so inspirational to be surrounded by so many people who share a belief and passion that these things can work together to make a real difference to people’s lives. 🤗

It reminded us exactly why we started Yoga in the Park, have worked so hard to grow it, and why we remain so incredibly passionate about it. 👏🏽

📸 This morning in Bournville Park, where the air was crisp but the sunshine was amazing! ☀️

Yoga in the Park continues until the end of October.

Stirchley Park

And when Yoga in the Park finishes for the season… we’re not stopping there! 😲

Our Community Calm Classes at Cotteridge Quaker Meeting House begin on Tuesday 13th 6pm with a sliding-scale payment option to help make Yoga accessible to more people. 👏🏽

We have just 1 space left on 13th and 20th October, so if you’ve been meaning to join us, now’s the time! ☺️

And there’s more to come…

Our community offerings will be expanding, with more opportunities to move, breathe, connect and feel part of something. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏿

Because Yoga and wellbeing shouldn't be a luxury, community matters, and our green spaces are there for all of us to enjoy. 🙌🏽

Watch this space! 💚

Four years in, I'm still learning. But I think that's the point. 🤔

You don't build a small business once. You keep building it — one leaky pipe, difficult decision, brilliant idea and beautiful human connection at a time. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏿

Things I've learnt:

💦 Water will get anywhere and everywhere. And it will not be good.

👯 Clients become friends before friends become clients.

🚪 Some of the people who walk through your door become a very important part of your life.

👀 People (other businesses) will shamelessly copy you. Literally. Down to the last detail.
Imitation is frustrating, but it doesn't make them YOU.

🔨 Something will always need fixing.
If it's not the toilet, it's the heating, the air con, the plumbing, the shutters... the list is endless.

🪜 You will become an expert in things you never intended to learn about.
Plumbing. Business rates. Insurance. Accounting. Planning applications. The list goes on.

🎢 You can spend months planning something that takes five minutes to go wrong.

💡 Creativity is key. Stay inspired.

❌ There is no such thing as “just running a little studio.”

🫧 You are often the cleaner, receptionist, marketer, accountant, maintenance person, IT department and sometimes therapist.

😴 People don't always see the work behind the scenes.
And that's okay. But don't shut them out.

❤️ Your community will surprise you.
When things get hard, the people who care really do show up.

‼️ Not everyone is your customer. And that's perfectly okay.

✅ Don't bother competing with them, even if they are with you.
You can only keep getting clearer about who you are and what you stand for.

💔 Doing things with heart doesn't mean doing things for free.

✍🏽 Boundaries are kindness — to you and to your business.

💑 Your team matter.

❌ Bigger isn't always better.

🥰 Small doesn't mean insignificant.

🤦🏽‍♀️ Some days you will wonder what on earth you are doing.

😭 And some days you'll look around and think: “I built this.”

Happy Birthday Jay 🎈
@jezee

My partner in life and business. Both of which have been a rollercoaster in the nearly 7 years we have been together. 🎢

It wasn't the happiest of times that brought us closer together. I am very proud of you, and I know she would be too. ❤️

Sometimes I have wanted to murder you, and I'm sure the feeling has been very mutual. 😂

But despite it all there truly is no one else I would rather do this crazy thing called life with. 🫂

You love all the important things in life like our cats 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ pasta 🍝 holidays ☀️ dinosaurs 🦖 and of course me! 😉

Here's to many more years of silliness, adventures and us. 🥂

The Yang to my Yin. ☯️

Me and the cats, and the YB Community love you enormously. 😘

SEPTEMBER 2026 📸

Is it just us or did September go by in the blink of an eye? 😅

It was a busy Late Summer in the studio, the park and as always behind the scenes at Yoga Borne.
We are so grateful but also a little tired. 😴

This weekend we will be retreating into rest slightly, as October is set to be a month with so much good stuff. 🙌🏽

This includes continuing Yoga in the Park in 3 locations, a new Community Calm class at Cotteridge Quaker Meeting House, 4 Week Beginners Course, Cacao Ceremony, World Mental Health Day and more! 🤩

Thank you for supporting our business, and please continue to do so. As studios pop up on every corner it's a rollercoaster ride right now 🎢 and unfortunately the wellbeing business landscape doesn't seem to be changing for the better. ☠️
