A short extract from @yoga_borne’s online meditation class 🍂

I felt inspired to put some visuals to the beautiful words by @karine_annick, encouraging us to embrace the changing seasons as we move into autumn.

Audio from @yoga_borne’s guided meditation session ‘Autumn Equinox’, with footage I filmed around my allotment.

Karine runs seasonal online meditation sessions that you can join from the comfort of your own home via Zoom, with classes bookable through the @yoga_borne website — which I highly recommend if you fancy giving yourself half an hour of calm 😌

Thank you to @yoga_borne for the amazing work you do, and for giving me permission to use the audio and share the finished film here 🍁🧡

How are you finding these in between "Twixmas" days? 🤔

Full of turkey / tofurky, mince pies and quality street? 😂

Curled up with a good book / film and a hot chocolate? ☕

It's been lovely to see some of you in the studio and online over the past few days, and tomorrow (Monday 29th) there's 1 space available for 6:15PM SLOW FLOW 🌊

This class will now be led by the lovely Tash @tash.natrins.yoga as Karine is feeling a little under the weather again 🤒

Whatever you are up to, stay warm and well, and try to make space for some rest 🙏🏽

📸 Delicious hot chocolate at our last outdoor swim!

Connecting to Nature 💚

Blowing the cobwebs away this morning with a walk after breakfast 🍳

Nature is a wonderful healer, a mood booster, and allows us to connect on a deeper level to ourselves - we are nature 🌍

We can't wait for the first of many Yoga In Nature practices tomorrow in the beautiful surroundings of Cotteridge Park 🌳

Beginner friendly and donation based, this offering is accessible and inclusive, the way Yoga should be 👍🏼

If you would like to donate prior to the practice, head to the link in our IG bio which will take you to an Eventbrite page where you can make a donation 😃

If you prefer to bring cash on the day please feel free to do so, and we kindly ask that you try to bring exact change 👛

Suggested donation £5 adults / £2.50 under 18, but please donate what you can and don't feel pressured to make a donation if it is not financially possible for you to do so right now. What matters is that we join together as a community 🫂

We believe in supporting our community and the beautiful green spaces around us, and the amazing work that the volunteers at Cotteridge Park do, so 50% of the profit from this event will go straight back into the park ✅

GOOD TO KNOW:
⭐ We meet on the bowling green for an 11:15am start. Please try to come on time so you don't miss the introduction and warm up.
⭐ Please bring your own mat or be prepared to practice barefoot.
⭐ Please bring a bottle of water and wear layers (British Spring-time is very unpredictable as we know).
⭐ We will head to "The Shed" after the practice for a cuppa if you would like to join us.
⭐ This offering is FAMILY FRIENDLY and is taught by a qualified adults and kids Yoga teacher who has an enhanced DBS.
⭐ If the weather is not suitable for the practice we will post on Facebook and IG but have no way to notify people individually.
⭐ Refunds are not offered if payment is made online prior to the practice.

Good morning 🌞

From my rather wild garden, the huge amounts of wild garlic, and my equally wild beautiful babies - Wednesday & Salem 🐾

SOUND ON and close your eyes for just 1 minute and listen to the sounds of nature.
The flow of the stream, the gentle whisper of the wind in the trees, the tweeting of the morning chorus 🐦

I've been away from the studio these past few weeks as myself and Jay go through IVF. It's been one of the most physically and emotionally challenging times of our lives 🥴

On top of the treatment I also caught a nasty virus so I've been pretty much housebound for weeks, and at the moment teaching or practicing regularly is off the agenda for me which has been hard - that's my life and my love! ❤️

Nature is a wonderful healer and I'm grateful to have a garden to take a mooch in this morning.
To gain some fresh air, gentle movement, and during this journey some often much needed calm and balance ⚖️

Have you been out in the fresh air today?
If not, can you? Just for a few minutes?
Or can you plan in some nature time for the weekend - it's set to be a sunny one! 🌞

Speaking of the weekend, I will be guiding a beautifully restful Yin Yoga Workshop this weekend - stillness, surrender, sanctuary 🥰

YIN YOGA WORKSHOP
Sunday 14th April
5:15-7:30pm

Don't forget to pause and breathe 🌬️

Much Love,

Karine xx

Stirchley Shenanigans! 😍

There's no doubt that Stirchley is the place to be right now, and as the one and only Yoga & Wellbeing Studio we are totally here for it 🎉

We are nestled amongst some of the best independent businesses in Birmingham, some of which have won awards themselves, and now we have been nominated for our own! 🏆

Thanks to those of you who nominated us first time round we have made it through to the Muddy Stilettos @muddywarks finals for Best Yoga & Pilates Studio in West Midlands & Warwickshire - EEEK! 😱

After less than 2 years owning the business and continuing to face many personal and professional challenges, this really felt like the uplift we needed when it was announced this week! 🙌🏼

THANK YOU SO MUCH to those of you who voted in the first round. All votes go back to zero so we need you to please vote again - and it takes a matter of moments to do so ✅

We are up against 4 other businesses so every vote will count. Please share with your friends, family, work colleagues, far and wide 🌍

It would mean the absolute world to Team Yoga Borne to win this award, and what an accolade to add to Stirchley! ❤️

How To Vote:
⭐ Head to our stories and click the link.
⭐ Head to our Muddy Stilettos highlight.

Spring Clean 🧹

We took advantage of the bank holiday weekend to give the studio some TLC ❤️

Reception has been repainted and has had a little rearrange - which we think is much more spacious.
That's not quite the finished result, but a great start! 😃

In the studio we did a little painting and touching up, have added a few new bits and bobs to give it that special and authentic YB feel, and there's more to come with this space 👀

We are super proud of the time and hard work we have put into the studio since taking it over.
Lots of new equipment, new ideas and a new lease of life for Yoga Borne! 🎉

Have a scroll through the pics to see Jay @jezee hard at work 🤩

Let us know what you think of our Spring clean so far! 💭

Much Love,

Karine & Jay xx

Look at the face 😍

Snapped Salem in action working on some new YB promotional leaflets 🔰😂

We don't regularly "do" leaflets as we are conscious of the environmental impact, but as the business grows we do find this is a good way to spread the magic 🪄

Watch out for one coming through a letter box near you soon! Take a pic of it and tag us to receive a FREE class 📸

We are back open this evening with BEGIN (WARM) 8PM and there are some rare spaces available 🔥

Wishing you a peaceful & loving bank holiday Monday ❤️

Easter Egg-Stravaganza! 🐣

Thank you so much to the Mini Yogis who joined us today - we hope you enjoyed your afternoon as much as we did🐰

Kids Yoga is so much fun, and can be beneficial to adults too in letting their guard down and silly side shine through! 😜

Today we explored a journey through Yoga shapes to find the Easter bunny, an Easter egg hunt around the studio, explored how deep breaths can help us feel calm and relaxed, and then sat down for some creative fun colouring in patterned eggs and making Easter decorations 🖍️

Follow our lead from today, and don't forget to look up to the sun and down to the daffodils next time you are outside 🌞

Next Kids Yoga class coming soon! 👀
