There’s something different about experiencing handcrafted design in person.

The texture. The scale. The conversations that happen when materials can be touched, compared, and appreciated side by side.

That’s exactly what made our week in New Orleans so special.

Thank you to every designer who stopped in, stayed awhile, and celebrated handmade design with us at Thursday night’s cocktail gathering.

Want to hear a wild thing? Authors @nicolakrausauthor, @cynthiaweiner, @laurenwillig and I all went to THE SAME high school, just a few grades apart, taught by the same English teachers and publishing in the same school lit mag. I find this so remarkable!

What a total joy to be reunited at the @chapinschoolnyc’s annual book fair, where we signed books in the same auditorium where our graduations took place, and where I slipped and fell during my 11th grade dance club performance 🤷🏻‍♀️

So wonderful to see old friends who came out for the night—and to sign a book for my PE teacher, who is…still there! The most meaningful book event ever.
