Ya el tiempo y el reloj no sirven de nada, pasan los meses como si fueran años y apenas hace unas pocas semanas era Enero, lustroso como si de verdad fuera nuevo. El año de la cerámica, el año de las renuncias, de los adioses, el año del caballo.
Hoy como hace un año y hace treinta y seis años también, tuve chance de volver a empezar y de encontrar por todos lados a las personas que me han querido y ayudado desde siempre.
En la mañana escribía que la palabra Agradecido se queda vergonzosamente corta con lo que siento, aunque cualquier palabra queda opaca cuando el sentir es tan grande. Puedo prometer muchas cosas pero honestamente solo voy a cumplir una. Un abrazo infinito a todos con los que he compartido este camino. 🦊

Hello everyone, Lorie Ballage here 👋

As this week of takeover comes to an end, I would like to share a few images from the place that has been hosting my research over the past weeks.

@ceramicasuro is not only a ceramic factory, it is a space where traditional crafts, industrial knowledge, and contemporary artistic experimentation intersect. Walking through the workshops, one encounters a continuous choreography of gestures: hands shaping clay, molds being filled, kilns breathing heat, glazes settling into their unpredictable transformations.

Being here has allowed me to experience ceramics within a different scale of production, but also within a community of artisans whose knowledge of the material is deeply embodied. Their generosity and openness have been an essential part of this residency.

Spending time inside a place where ceramics are produced at such intensity has been incredibly enriching. This environment has allowed me to develop a completely new body of work, where the context of the factory and the city, its light, its climate, and the rhythms has slowly infiltrated my processes.

I would like to thank the entire team at Ceramica Suro for their warmth and openness throughout this residency. And my heartfelt thanks to @norwegiancrafts for making this experience possible, for their generous support and for their trust in allowing me to share a glimpse of my world on the other side of the planet over the past few days.
And thank you to everyone who followed along this week!

Diciembre me dio de todo.
Comencé el mes con la fiesta de 75 años de @editorialplaneta, luego el aniversario de @octo_mx , la inauguración del #Tequilalab y la presentación de la serie #laliberación. Además de eso, 3 posadas y una boda. También hubo un choque, una contusión leve en cuello y hombros y una lesión dolorosísima en la pierna (de la cual todavía me estoy recuperando) y que me obligó a tocar sentada todos esos días. Con todo y todo estoy muy agradecida, como siempre. Gracias diciembre, gracias cierre de año, gracias a todos los involucrados por pensar en mi y en mi trabajo que hago con mucho amor. Los tqm.

During my residency at @ceramicasuro I had the chance to work in an incredible environment surrounded with incredibly talented and skilled people.
This is where this very different work took place - perhaps a little more personal and introspective.
