We are delighted to announce the winner of this year's The Long Haul Youth Initiative. Today, we celebrate this year's winner, Sir Nigel Rodley, and his legacy.

With her piece 'The Embrace', @karlijnknipping beautifully depicted what hope and resilience in uncertain times can look like. At her request, we will donate €250 to @planteenolijfboom, an organisation that plants olive trees in Palestine.

We would like to thank everyone who participated by sending in their submissions and sharing their creative works and stories.

Details! A few weeks ago @karlijnknipping asked me to photograph her installation. It was great to be part of her project like this! Because of Covid-19 it couldn’t be open to the public unfortunately, so we captured it. All of it.
Mostly I shoot people, so to photograph her art and all the details of it was really fun and interesting.

@karlijnknipping did research on the relationship between language and image. These Riso printed newspapers were made of hand drawn letters and printed with only black.

@melkwegexpo gave us their awesome space for the day. @riso_pop printed the newspapers beautifully.

These ‘newspapers’ were made of hand drawn letters and printed with only black. To help with that ‘newspaper’ feel; they were printed with a visible raster and the paper type was a perfect advice from out fav paper shop @vliegerpapier 💜

Sadly the installation couldn’t be open to the public but a video was made together with these fab pics 🙌🏽✨thanks for sharing!
