Seven years in Hawai‘i… it’s where I grew up, where I discovered my independence, and where I found family in the friends who became such an important part of my life. These islands have shaped me in more ways than I can count, teaching me how to slow down, be present, and carry gratitude in everything I do.

Last week I graduated with a BA in Strategic & Corporate Communication, along with 2 minors in Creative & Cultural Industries and Dance. I remember applying to Chapman a week before the deadline, and didn’t realize after having one door closed on me, another one opened.

Freshman year, I was terrified that I made a mistake moving across the country to Orange County, California. I was still the anxious and introverted girl from Auburn, Alabama, not knowing if I would make any friends at this school. Fortunately, I stuck around and met some pretty cool people that I now call my lifelong best friends. These tremendous, talented, and selfless friends made me excited to be myself, not worrying what others would think of me, while also teaching me how to be a California girl🤩

I am profoundly thankful for what Chapman has led me to, and the unexpected journey along the way. If you told me 4 years ago that I would be interested in the entertainment industry to work in talent and Film/TV production, that I would learn how to gain confidence and self-love from others, and that this school would change my life forever, I would say ALRIGHT, I don’t believe it but…LET’S GET IT STARTED✈️✌🏽The highs and lows that I experienced throughout these 4 years made me content with whatever life throws my way, happens for a reason.

These people are my biggest supporters who all helped me grow into the best version of myself at Chapman, and I will be forever grateful. Thank y’all for helping an Alabama girl think Chapman as not a mistake, but the best decision she’s ever made🤍
