Having days of the year that celebrate Women, Black People, The Queer Community etc. always feels a little strange to me. Like, “so we’re just going to pretend we shouldn’t be celebrated every day as all decent people should be?” Weird, but okay, let me lean into it. I was fortunate enough to be raised in a family of 7 aunties, most of which were single mothers… And when you’re raised in an environment like that, your view of women is shaped fundamentally different from the Patriarchal view of society. So it always befuddles me when I hear the damaging experiences women have to go through, especially in the corporate world. There’s a shocking statistic I came across which is that female-founded companies generate 78 cents of revenue for every dollar invested whereas male-founded companies earned just 31 cents. Yet only 2.3% of global VC funding goes to female founders. Coincidence or systematically encoded? I suspect it’s the latter. Throughout my life so far, my worldview has served me well as I’ve had the pleasure of working with incredibly talented and disciplined women; as much as I have with wonderfully creative and emotionally rich women. And I’ve been able to see their greatness clearly. Although International Women’s Day was just yesterday, my message is eternal: You are the backbone of life. You have the power to achieve whatever you set your mind to. You have the strength most men dream of. You can command a boardroom as well as you can your man (😂) Continue to shine unapologetically, and strive to be the greatest you can be. My aunties, sisters, colleagues, role models, friends, nieces, mothers.  You’re that girl. #iwd2026 #motivation #positivity
