Thank you @mtn.hs.wrestling for the best 4 years. Things didn’t go as planned but that’s life. The friendships i’ve made through this sport is something i’ll always be grateful for. I want to thank @rickykorn Coach Ransom, Coach Scofield, Coach Davis, and Coach K. Without yall I wouldn’t be where I am today. Lastly thank you @d.c.hall, without you I wouldn’t have joined wrestling in 7th grade.

For another big potential 5A matchup we have 2x state champ Stone Staton who’s only blemish this season is to state finalist Karson Poe of Moody. Poe and Staton faced each other in the first round of 5A state duals, where Karson got the decisive 14-8 upset victory over Staton. It will be exciting to see who comes out on top for their rematch.

*Updated* shoutout to @rickykorn for letting me know Karson Poe is 1-0 against Staton, these are the updated rankings.
For 126 pounds at the number one spot we have a two-time undefeated state champion, David Hill who has been bonusing his way throughout the season. A big sudden victory upset by Cordell Lee over the former number one ranked Stone Phillips has catapulted his way to third in the rankings while Stone drops to 4th.
Honorable Mentions:
- Stone Staton Jr 19-1 Scottsboro 5A
- Mason Hahm Sr 23-0 White Plains 4A
- Zander Samargia Jr 31-9 Bob Jones 7A - @zsamar5428
- Stephen Springfield Sr 39-7 Mountain Brook 6A - @stephen_springfield
- Jayden King Sr 37-7 T-County 7A - @official._cappin
- Will Atkinson Fr 20-3 Thompson 7A
- Harley Briscoe So 33-3 Hayden 5A - @harley_briscoe82

Heading back from USAW preseason nationals. As a club we were able to take 20 athletes to 12 1/2 hours away from home to Des Moines, Iowa. This is one of the few “national tournaments” that we actually consider the kids All Americans at. The guys all wrestled Fantastic all weekend. I want to Highlight 4 Athletes that got on the podium. David Hill took 7th in the showcase division which is for state champs and all Americans. Henry Smith for taking 2nd place in the 3rd/4th grade Division. Max Sparrow who finished 8th in the 5th/6th division and finally Connor Poe who finished 4th in the 1st/2nd grade division. Grateful for our group and looking forward to getting back in the room and getting youth season started.
