T H R E E! ohmigod how has 3 years of my life passed! I’ll tell ya how, I took on a project WAY beyond me & my capabilities, my knowledge, my strengths, my weaknesses! I have never felt so alone whilst being surrounded by thousands of people a week! I’m expected to always have a smile and an answer for everyone and everything! I am the leader! I’ve been called every name under the sun as the “manager on duty.” Thanks Pennys husband. C U Next Tuesday at AA or AM!

HOSPITALITY - what does that even mean!? People go to college to get degrees in hospitality! To get educated on how to host people, deal with situations that may arise, how to talk to guests & what to never say, how to up-sale, how to manage a team, how to diffuse a situation, how to plan an event, & literally how to communicate! That’s just the tip of the iceberg. I’m expected to know food safety, liquor laws, cleaning plans, menu planning & every ingredient for allergies, labor laws, payroll, food costing, where to source the cheapest egg THIS week, what to do in the event of an emergency, train people, retain people, hire & fire, be a friend but not too friendly. ADA compliance, determine the difference between a service dog and just a dog! The list is endless! Don’t get me started on the process of being a photographer & social media expert!! I just remembered online reviews … fml! Libel defamation laws oh boy!! We got cameras, video & audio! You started a battle and I’m ready for war!

All the things I took on, as an uneducated female entrepreneur, when I decided to open a restaurant! This little video is a glimpse of the beginning of my journey in this crazy industry! I don’t know what my future holds but I’m here for it. For now anyway! Somedays I feel like I lost myself on this journey, like the person I was is stuck in the person I’ve become and is fighting to get back. A loyal customer recently told me “you just have to smile & fake it! That’s hospitality & customer service,” she said! I’m not a good faker just ask Tracie H on yelp

I am still human, an individual, Angela Amundsen operator & owner of not only PD but 13 other entities.
