Late holiday post, but here’s why- Eleven and a half years ago, during my first week of freshman year, I met a guy in my chemistry class named Matthew… or Ben… or something. He sat in front of me. We talked maybe six times the entire semester — though his head blocked my view of the board every single class, which made him pretty hard to miss. 😂 For the next few semesters, we kept ending up in classes together. I wouldn’t say we were friends, honestly, I wouldn’t even say we were acquaintances, but like I said, he was hard to miss. Almost four years later, we ran into each other at Fuzzy’s before finals, and I added him on Snapchat (very romantic, I know — I should probably start a dating advice column). Less than a month later, he invited me to Christmas Shore Dinner at his family’s country club… with nearly his entire family.😨 To 21-year-old me, that felt so fast. I could say I went on a whim, or out of curiosity, or just because “why not.” But that wouldn’t be true. I went because I knew Ben was special and I wasn’t sure how many more chances I’d get to NOT miss him. And I was right. I love when that happens. The holidays have always been special to me, but now they’re even more meaningful. Beyond the 9 shore dinners we've spent together (running out of room in these posts)- they remind me of my favorite season and the weeks I spent falling head over heels for the giant goofball from my freshman chemistry class, who turned out to be my favorite person on earth. On January 27, 2018 — eight years ago today — Ben and I became “official.” I think that’s when I “officially” took custody of every sweatshirt in his closet… not totally sure. 😂 Eight years later, I’m still choosing you. Still laughing with you. Still grateful I didn’t miss you when it mattered most. Thank you for loving my family like your own, and for welcoming me into yours so completely and making your family feel like my family, too. That means more to me than you’ll ever know. Happy ~dating~ anniversary, my love. 🩷 Also happy holidays! 🎄🕎🍾

Love was in the air♥️ Ben and I had such an amazing time at our Tulsa couples shower last weekend. I feel blessed to be surrounded by so many incredible friends and family. I especially want to thank my future Kramer/Strimple family’s hard work in putting it all together. Your support means the world to us and we can’t wait to celebrate with you all in June!
