We would like to extend a big Congratulations to our 10 students who just graduated from our first two EcoDiver programs and attended a great afternoon of celebration.

They all did an amazing job and now have their Advanced Open Water certificates. They also participated in numerous educational sessions where they learned about marine ecology, sea turtles, ocean plastic, coral restoration, birds and more. We now welcome them into our Volunteer Diver program where they will be helping us with our underwater cleans.

A huge thank you to DiveCarib for their complimentary Open Water training and for their amazing instruction and guidance over the last several months. And thanks to our wonderful group of educators who have been inspiring them along the way.

We look forward to having Aunjelique, Donte, Geniya, Hilah, Iman, Jhemsey, Lizandro, Shanae, Skylie ( not present ) and Tyson join our team!

Over 200 lbs of rubbish removed on this dive. Thanks to our grant from UN GEF we are starting to make a real difference to the reefs around Antigua by removing damaging trash and line from the reefs. Sometimes it is so old that it’s become part of the reef and then we leave it so we don’t disturb the habitat. But as well as removing miles of fishing line, hooks and weights which are damaging corals, sponges and other vegetation we are also removing these other items which in heavy swell cause significant damage to our underwater habitats. Thank you to the UN GEF program for all their support of our efforts, to our volunteers and to the diving companies helping us with our work. In this case thank you @divecarib. #Coral #coralreef #saveourreefs #savethereef #saveouroceans #coralconservation #coralrestoration #coralgardners #coralsforconservation #coralnurseries #marineconservation #conservation #antigua #antiguaandbarbuda #barbuda #caribbean #antiguabarbudanationalpark #caribbeancoralrestoration

After the work by our volunteer divers we need to analyse what we have collected so we can forward the data at the end of the project. All fishing line, hooks and weights are recycled. As is anything else we can recycle. Thanks to @esquire_henry for all his help - whatever the time !!

Big swell for our young team of local volunteers many from our eco divers club. This was the first time they had encountered big swell and it makes for hard work. Great job team over 18lbs of line removed from the reef and that’s a lot of line. #Antigua #antiguaandbarbuda #barbuda #caribbean #antiguabarbudanationalpark #caribbeancoralrestoration

Our apartment guest Marce asked to join a beach clean up so she went along with Kat for her Sunday morning clean up at Johnson’s Point. 4 x 24 gallon bags of trash later, appreciated the bird life and beauty. Great job 💙👍🏿🙌🏿
