A little late to the game but here is part 1 of a throwback of 2024 - one of my probably most transforming and eye opening years and I fu**ing loved it! Started of the year 2024 in India which was such a big gift for myself after the most stressful past 3 years I ever had. Coming to this beautiful place in nature, settling down my nervous system which was on fire for 3years(!!). Not feeling at home in my body as a whole, I started to slowly come back and healing started to occur. Slowly and smoothly. I fell in love of being surrounded by a community that shares the same sorts of values and cared for each other. I learned not only much about myself in these days, but also a lot about yoga hehe and transformation slowly took place, from the inside onwards. After leaving India with tears I had a few months back home in Germany. Spring was around the corner and I love when my bubu starts playing the guitar for me. I just love listening not only to nature sounds but seeing him playing the guitar makes my heart melt. Of course we had to make fun of it as well haha. I was also seeing my lovely exroomies in Maasi again, my forever lovely roomates!! (JB was missing on that photo ❤️‍🩹)At the end of March, I packed my backpack again for Central America. Not knowing this would be my most exhausting trip EVER and since I didn't learned to hear my body's voice, I ended up having a panic attack at the top of a volcano. That was no fun I tell you. But this experience lead me to further listening to my inner voice, getting a deeper connection to my soul. I started this trip in Nicaragua, loving the jungle on a beautiful volcano island! Drinking cacao from the land where it grows and seeing this stunning views was just mhhh so humbling. After some blissful days of course I got a Nicaraguan belly and staying in a hut for 4 days straight while 40 degrees with immense humidity without a fan was tough. After finally feeling a bit better of course I had to cheer myself up haha. Well, this was a journey. A one of a lot of sunsets, jungle sounds, tears and lots of fun. I love life and I am so grateful i got the opportunity to experience all of that.

2024, you’ve been one of the most transformative years of my life. Who knew so many adventures and transformative experiences could fit into just 12 months? Thank you for the change, the challenges, the magic, and everything in between. Ready to embrace all that 2025 has in store ✨

Please take a moment to read this op ed from my colleague Maia Berlow about our former NY Senate chief of staff, Jacob Priley, who turned 31 years old yesterday, a year after suffering a traumatic brain injury from a crash with an SUV while riding a Citibike.

Thanks to Jacob’s help, we passed Sammy’s Law in Albany to allow NYC to lower speed limits on side streets, but there’s so much more to do to make our streets safer for cyclists, pedestrians and motorists, as Maia and her co-authors, all Jacob’s friends, outline in their piece.

Get involved! Go to @familiesforsafestreets to find out how.
