A beautiful soil-soul-filled day at The Apricot Centre’s Community Bioblitz doing soil chromatography and creative writing prompts with Dr Jude Allen and Soil Voices @soilvoices
Soil Voices is collecting stories and memories about soil to build a global map of soil stories, reminding us how crucial soil is to human survival and well-being, so that we can all remember to value it and care for it together.

Loved seeing all the different soils from Devon and it made me think of Elizabeth-Jane Burnett’s geological memoir The Grassling so rooted in the red Devon soil @ejbpoetry

Just stumbled upon these farewell cards and realised it's been a year today since I left Schumacher! It feels like yesterday, sitting in the Redwoods for our leaving circle but so many things have happened in the meantime... Soaking in the love that comes with those warm words ❤️

A perfect mix of river Dart, friends and flowers for this South Devon pilgrimage.

Ultimate gift before my departure: seeing a blue kingfisher darting over the water on my morning swim ❤️

Back soon? (@really_reb_photographie ? 🤗)

The People

This is the end of 18 months of evolution, discoveries and life in South Devon. Without a doubt, it has been the most transformative (can’t believe I am using this word) moment of my personal, social and professional life. And this time would have been nothing without the people I have been surrounded with. They welcomed me, supported me, loved me, hugged me, teased me, encouraged me, challenged me, annoyed me, enriched me, taught me, inspired me and guided me. Some have been here all along, some came and left, some I just had a glimpse of and they are not even on the pictures, some have left a bittersweet feeling in my heart. Although I am an introvert and enjoy some solitude, people bring so much sparkles in my life! They are a eternal source of joy, kindness and laughter.

@lenariina definitely holds a very particular place in my heart now, my faithful partner in crime ❤️

Thank you, all of you that I have crossed path with. There are only 10 pictures allowed here but my heart has a hundred on an internal slideshow, running on repeat.

@romina_thaleiser, @laylioh, @neilkhc and @tchev3000 obviously your picture should be up there!

Meet the 2019 growers!

Kate is the anchor of Schumacher’s morning glory, she never missed one and she has this impressive full body shake move. On a less dancing note she is really keen on natural craft and made amazing naturally dyed linens (as well as lino print or natural pigments birthday cards) during the residency. In life BS (Before Schumacher) she was a graphic designer in London. Definitely an artist in her heart. And of course she loves growing vegs!

Glimpses of Schumacher shot by Lilli, a very missed and talented volunteer. It’s all about the compost loo. 📷 @laylioh
