*Winter in Gaza is not just cold — it’s unbearable.*
We live in a tent that can’t stop the rain.
Our clothes are soaked, our children are shivering,
and there is no heat… only prayers.
The storm has exposed our pain
but your heart can cover us in warmth.
Your donation isn’t just help.
It’s hope. It’s life.
*Please don’t leave us alone in the cold.*

“Brigit” was just completed literally days ago, so she is the youngest of the “sculpture sisters,” so far. Just like the other sculptures, she’s completely handmade, and has a handmade concrete black sculpture base with a metal support rod. The nice thing about these sculptures is that they can be easily removed from the heavy base and put back together, which makes it easier to transport them or to move them from one room to another. “Brigit” was inspired by the Irish Goddess, known as a symbol of fertility, new growth, hope, renewed enthusiasm, and new beginnings. In Irish cultures she is associated with inspiration, the empowerment and encouragement of creative energies, and the importance of illuminating our personal and creative talents and gifts. Brigit wears the colors of the greening earth that sparkles after a springtime rain shower. She has a lot of extremely tiny pieces adorning her, and it took many, many hours to create her. I’m very grateful, once again, to our dear generous friend and glass bead artist, Kate Drew-Wilkinson, who shared some of the materials (clear and transparent green glass rods) that I used in this Color Field artwork. I have found that I really enjoy using them in my art, so I hope to keep finding ways to incorporate them in my original designs. Other interesting materials include jewelry (pendant), Swarovski crystal beads, many varieties of modern and vintage glass beads, and tiny glass fragments. Gratitude to all kind and loving friends who support me and offer encouragement to me as an artist in a variety of ways! 💚
