Old town square in Szczecin, Poland. Spending time in Berlin with @wokeupsmiling and her sweet boyfriend is loads of fun. They surprised me with a day trip to Poland where I had never been. Love it!

Let’s talk about lighting... 💡
This pic was taken outside in natural light which is the truest light to photograph hair in. I always take my clients outside with a mirror to check out their color.
In door lighting makes it hard to relay what the hair really looks like. For instance, sitting vs standing influences where the light hits, and where you are in the space plays a huge part in how the camera will see the hair. Not to mention there are different kinds of light bulbs that also will reflect and absorb light differently.
It’s always so disappointing when the hair pic looks different (worse in some cases) than it does to the naked eye in person. I try my best to capture the hair the way I see it so I don’t have to do too many edits.
That being said, in terms of outdoor lighting, time of day, shadows and sun exposure do matter.
Be mindful of lighting and how the hair is portrayed when taking your hair pics. When clients come to see you and show a pic of your work that they want replicated on themselves, it’s important to be able to deliver that or explain that it has been edited
