Laguna just gets it. 💙💛

School cafeteria, Valentine decorations, nervous little smiles… and a whole lot of moms, dads, uncles, grandparents, and friends showing up.

My husband almost couldn’t make it. And without hesitation, her uncle and aunt stepped in. Laguna welcomed them. That’s community. That’s family.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about presence.

Laguna creates space where everyone is welcome: moms, dads, grandparents, bonus parents, siblings, teachers.

Whoever loves these kids and shows up for them.

Nights like last night are why community matters.

Happy Valentine’s Day from one very full heart.

It’s been a whirlwind week I am GRATEFUL for. Private showing with friends of Wicked for Good FOR GooD Cause, the HoHo Holiday Fundraiser for SUSD, Millie’s opening night, birthday celebrations, post-show Barro’s hangs, and watching Ziv step into tech crew like he’s been doing it forever.

Thursday marked one year since my mom passed, and somehow this week,surrounded by friends and family, doing good, and observing so much joy, I felt her with us in all the little moments.

And it all wrapped with one of my favorite full-circle photos: baby Millie in the arms of Mrs. K, who was her kindergarten teacher years later, and her brother’s kindergarten teacher even before that. Mrs. K is wearing a Thing 2 shirt in the picture… and tonight Millie heads back to rehearsal to play Thing 1, a role she’s waited ten years for. 😜

The new week starts on Thursday with Thanksgiving and I am feeling blessed, grateful and ready to give back, pay it forward and keep living a life full of gratitude.

I’m the luckiest girl in the world. I got to celebrate my 50th birthday where everyone knew my name. It’s been a really hard couple of years. And it may sound silly but I finally grew up. It happened just before my 50th birthday, in November, when my Mom passed away.

We don’t get time back. Every second is precious. The moments that matter are best spent with the people that matter to you: the ones who know your name and have your back as you have theirs. The ones who don’t leave you guessing and whose troubles are all the same.

I am so grateful for the abundant love in my life. Cheers.
