BlueChiliGrass Festival is one of my very fave local events and this year was no different! 🌶️🎶

We love all that @lakebonisteelmusic does to give back to our community and help get instruments into the hands of kiddos. It couldn’t have been a better day to support a great cause, hear some live music, and eat tons of yummy chili.

The fact that @thenativehowl closed out the night in such an epic way was just the cherry on top. I’ve lost count of how many years have gone by since I last saw them play — when it used to be practically every weekend. This little hometown reunion show brought out so many faces I have not seen in one place in ages. There were hugs, tears, and smiles ear to ear. The second I heard that first note played, I felt like I was 22 all over again {for better or worse haha}.

Loved head bangin’ and howlin’ at the Harvest Moon with all those friends 🐺🌕

There are no words to describe how intricately woven and influential the PoHo music scene is in my life. Even though so much has changed and everything is different now, I am endlessly grateful for how it has enriched nearly every aspect of my being and my life. I’m not me without it. This night was the perfect, full-circle reminder of that.

Whenever we get a call from Stephen and Leslie Braun, we know we’re in for the best kind of adventure. This time we got to visit their new home in Florida and it was like stepping into a larger-than-life art exhibit. They’ve looped us and our music into countless places, and this time we got to perform at their party, watching the sunset over the lake and judging an air guitar contest and eating some of the best food we’ve had. But the highlight was being introduced to @jasminestarmusic and getting to end the night jamming on Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain”. She is a songwriter/producer/performer in LA and can SHRED on guitar.
Before we left town we had a cozy movie night - Stephen’s production company @bee_hive_productions_llc_ has a new film coming out next year and we got a sneak preview! Keep an eye out for “A Bobby Thing”, especially if you’re a fan of thriller/comedy/horror!! I can barely handle gore but Sav held my hand and I laughed and screamed and enjoyed it 10/10. (If horror isn’t your thing watch Sacramento - there’s an Accidentals song in it! Or Carolina Caroline!)
For Nintendo fans- Stephen and Leslie brought the whole Accidentals crew to Epic Universal including Super Nintendo world (!!!) and dang what a way to wrap the tour. 🍄 Much gratitude. More embarrassing rollercoaster photos and behind-the-scenes coming soon in the next Tour Blog on our @patreon xoxo

Ever been to Mackinac Island? ✋ We used to come here on school trips- a mystical place with horse drawn carriages, a butterfly house, and as much fudge as you can eat. Over the last 15 years as a band, we’ve spent countless summers hauling our gear onto the ferry to play shows around the island. (Still can’t believe the summer in 2023 when we got to spend the day with our hero @petesouza ). This year, our friend Jason St Onge gave us a true Mackinac vacation. Motorized vehicles aren’t allowed on the island, so Jason managed to freight our entire TRAILER and push it up a HILL for our performance at The Backyard at @cannonball.oasis where he proceeded to fry up a batch of the best deep fried pickles we’ve ever eaten. We had a blast performing, and if that wasn’t enough, we got to enjoy the butterflies, bike rides around the island, @luckybean.mi coffee, and Amber showing us how arcade basketball is done 👏. Big thanks to Jason and his crew for making it happen ❤️ It was the perfect trip to introduce some friends/fam to the island for the first time- including photographer @erickfrost who is a joy to be around and a master at his craft (📷 1-13)

Another year in the books with our annual FAMGrove Fest and ohhhh my gosh our hearts are full. @atozmusic_ kicked off the show in shirts and ties with their “punk in nature” set, followed by @theburneysisters, whose sweet sister harmonies earned them a standing ovation. @joanneshawtaylor tore the place up with her incredible guitar playing and smoky power vocals, and we joined @emmazinck for a country pop rock and rollin’ time. We finished out the night with a trio set that spanned songs from the past 16 years of being a band all the way to now. All in all, an amazing night to remember and we already can’t wait to do it again.

Big thanks to @amber_buist and @sharonlcorbitt for helping bring our friends north and organizing the majority of this fest! Thanks to @carterfurland @theoriginalriver and the IAA student tech team for making the audio and light show happen. @ellelive @scottjasonswan and @rickbuist for filling in the gaps and making sure everyone had food, transpo, and hospitality. Thanks to our Hero @schuringbob for bringing garden veggies and running everybody’s merch. Big thanks to @jaygilbert22 for snapping photos and documenting the night (on his birthday!!!) shoutout to @katelynncorllofficial for pulling a triple header behind the kit playing for Joanne, Emma, and us!

We’ll see ya next time!

I flew overnight from a show with @laineywilson at @mercedesbenzstadium opening for @chrisstapleton in Atlanta, touched down in northern Michigan, and played what had to be one of my favorite shows of the year. My band @theaccidentalsmusic hosts a festival there every year called FAMGrove where we bring some of our favorite musicians north and have a huge party. This year we had our friends @atozmusic_ / @theburneysisters / @joanneshawtaylor / @emmazinck and it was a total blast.

Highlights:

@emmazinck pulling out a money gun mid-song and showering the audience in fake cash

@theburneysisters and @joanneshawtaylor getting standing ovations

All of us playing a half-rehearsed cover of @fleetwoodmac’s The Chain and SHREDDING

@jaygilbert22 flying in from California on his birthday to take these pictures

People I’ve known for fifteen years showing up to support

Big thanks to @amber_buist and @sharonlcorbitt for helping organize and put together this incredible show. Thanks to @carterfurland and @theoriginalriver and the IAA student tech team for all of the audio and lighting for the day. Thanks to @caitlinbird3651 for the pants and the sick blazer 🖤✨Thanks to @ellelive and @rickbuist and @scottjasonswan for filling in the gaps and making sure everybody got fed and cared for. Thanks to @schuringbob for bringing his famous garden veggies and running everybody’s merch. Shoutout to @katelynncorllofficial for pulling a triple header behind the kit.

And a huge shoutout to my longtime band member and one of my best friends, @katielarsonmusic, for her kindness, her passion, and our mutual trust and respect for each other. It’s been 15 years of playing these songs together and that trust and love only gets stronger with time. As our schedules get crazier and life takes us in crazy directions, it always gets me in my feels how lucky I am to have my Spud Studs @katielarsonmusic @katelynncorllofficial and @pattypershayla - I would not still be standing without yall.

Much love and we’ll see ya next time!
