A behind the scenes sneak peek from today’s shoot with @erinborzellino Glorious sunshine, blue skies, and the Hudson River showing off. Can’t compete with that backdrop. Grateful for an incredible photographer who brought it all to life. Plus a great friend’s beautiful home she generously shared. And the perfect style touches from another dear friend’s accessories and advice. This is the lifestyle I love showcasing; elevated, effortless, collaborative, and rooted in Irvington. Can’t wait for the finished shots to continue to build up my brand on the Corcoran Legends platform. Today, take a moment to reflect and honor those we lost, and those affected by the 9/11 tragedy. At the time, I was recently married, living in Hoboken, and working in Midtown Manhattan as part of an MBA program at Credit Suisse. My wife, Kathy, was still working in Cambridge MA, waiting for her transfer to the NYC area. That morning she was driving to her work in Massachusetts. After the first plane hit, we dropped the TV projection screen in the CS conference room and tuned in to CNBC. After the second plane hit, I realized the severity of the moment. Along with my father, who was also at Credit Suisse, we made our way the 34th street dock to get a ferry the SeaStreak. On the face-paced walk, I heard military jets scrambling really low above the city. I also worried that some jets might not be military, and that more planes could hit buildings and debris could fall on us. Once on the boat, I felt safe. There was a lot of chatter at first, but the boat grew quiet as we approached the South Street Seaport through the haze of smoke and papers drifting in the air for the second pickup stop. That was when the personally felt the true impact of what had just happened. New passengers boarded- many didn’t even know where the SeaStreak ferry was headed, only they wanted to escape Manhattan. Their faces were in shock; I could feel the horror they carried. I will never forget one man with bloodshot eyes and burn marks on his suit. He took only 2-3 steps onto the boat, turned around, and sat on the steps to the upper deck. He dropped his head and covered his face tightly with his hands. As we made our way to New Jersey, I looked back at the massive plume of smoke rising over the water. When we arrived in Highlands, NJ local fire and ambulance crews were waiting to help the injured. But there were no physical injuries, but the trauma of the disaster. On the drive to my parents’ house, I shouted, “Buddha!” During my MBA years networking, I had visited Chris (Buddha) Clarke at Sandler O’Neill on a top floor of the World Trade Center. The Clarkes are longtime friends of the Harcsar family. Buddha was 34 😢.
