🏀 Go Lakers! Go Journalism! 🏀

Journalism students got up close and personal with L.A. sports journalism at the Los Angeles Lakers game at Crypto.com Arena.

As part of the Sports Journalism class, the students visited the press box and met with ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin. They saw a post-game Q&A with Lakers Head Coach JJ Redick and player Luka Dončić.

While Spectrum SportsNet Reporter Mike Trudell reported on the pre-game, the students watched as Austin Reaves warmed up in the background.

Professor Mike Bresnahan organized the trip for his students to learn through this incredible hands-on experience. Bresnahan is the on-air Lakers analyst for Spectrum SportsNet.

“That was such an amazing night with so many learning experiences for our class,” Bresnahan said. “I’d have a hard time deciding what was the best part — the Q&As with a half-dozen media personalities, sitting in on Lakers star Luka Dončić’s post-game interview with reporters or watching Lakers sideline reporter Mike Trudell’s pre-game hit while we were courtside. Either way, it’s a day I’ll never forget.”

Thank you to Professor Mike Bresnahan for providing these excellent opportunities for our Journalism students!

Now for our beautiful sports reporter, we haveeeee Katherine Lytle!! 😍😜👗👯‍♀️🏅Katherine is a junior majoring in Journalism. She has been on the NewsWaves team for four semesters now! If she got her ideal Saturday, she would be sleeping in and heading to the beach after getting a full 10 hours of sleep. She deserves it since our lovely Katherine is also part of our track and field team. If she could give a Ted Talk on one topic it would be the importance of women behind the scenes in sports.
Katherine is most like Suki from Gilmore Girls. We love our Kathy!
