Well last night's baloon sculpture class was all the things--exciting, challenging, surprising, riveting and the results were astounding. Watching them create their sculptures was better than any thriller I've seen in a long time. Will they make it without popping their balloons? Will they make it at all? But boy did they ever pull it off! Each made a unique, organic, original piece of art to treasure and some hilarious memories too. Thank you to all our brave participants who dared to try something new. And to Mr. Jarec--Jerry! For your constant artistic generosity. #yqg #potteryclass #potterylove #potterystudio

Have you taken a handbuilding class or two, and not sure what to do next? But you know you want to make a set of dishes, some mugs, kurinuki candlesticks, or sculpt some treasures? Sign up for our 5-week open studio, starting Monday May 26th. Four weeks to craft your projects, the fifth for glazing. Come with a plan, and our instructor will guide your project to completion, giving you tips and tricks along the way. Not quite ready for studio membership, but still want to make things, this is for you. Must have taken a multi-week class and be comfortable making slabs and glazing. (many of these pieces made by our students/mwmbers)

Last night our talented studio members got together to make some big & little things…that’s the joy of studio membership—a place to meet other people passionate about pottery, share tips, learn from and laugh with each other over pizza and refreshments. We love Ford City, and our growing pottery community. #pottery #potteryclass #kurinuki #potterystudio #whattodoinwindsor #ceramics #ceramicart #artsandcrafts #handmade #potterylove #handmadeceramics #potterywheel #wheelthrown #pottersofinstagram #potteryclassyqg #potteryclasswindsor #potteryofinstagram #stoneware #potterystudio #functionalpottery #windsorpotters #windsormakers #yqg #yqgmakers #windsoressex #windsoressexcounty

2024 is the year it all began for Ford City Potters. It was tougher than we expected but so much more rewarding than we ever imagined. As our pottery community continues to grow, so too does our immense gratitude for everyone who supported us—friends, family and pottery lovers alike.

Here’s to more playing in the clay in 2025. And fewer S-cracks.

A blast was had at the 1st Annual Ford City Holiday Pottery Throwdown. Part one, our talented (and competitive) members made as many cylinders as possible in 10 minutes. The winner… was @ashglassburn !!!

It’s been a mad rush to get everything fired for the Potter’s Market at the Walkerville Brewery Nov. 23rd. Meet local potters, and a whole slew of new ones hatched right here at Ford City Potters. Hope to see you there. And for members, the next bisque will be Sunday. If you want to make it, drop your stuff off tonight. We are open until 8:30. Final glaze starts Tuesday night. Yay! There’s a moment in every class when everyone is in the zone. Usually happens about an hour in. If you know you know. Last night’s handbuilding crew found their groove and finished their pieces, many timed to the holidays and Halloween! Can’t wait to glaze these pieces next week and post the final pics!! Oh and the evening handbuilding classes will be on Wednesdays from now on….there’s still room in the up coming 6-week class. #pottery #potteryclass #potterystudio #whattodoinwindsor #ceramics #ceramicart #artsandcrafts #handmade #potterylove #handmadeceramics #potterywheel #wheelthrown #pottersofinstagram #potteryclassyqg #potteryclasswindsor #datenightideasyqg #potteryofinstagram #stoneware #potterystudio #functionalpottery #windsorpotters #windsormakers #yqg #yqgmakers #windsoressex #windsoressexcounty
