In Istanbul every corner holds its own secret and it’s hard to tell where history ends and the present begins. The air is filled with the scent of spices from the Grand Bazaar, the rustle of fabrics and the echoes of footsteps from those who walked these streets centuries ago. Every step here is a journey through time where the past and the future merge into one maintaining a perfect harmony
.

#Sigiriya, the majestic rock in Sri Lanka, holds ancient mysteries.

King Kashyapa once decorated his palace with frescoes of celestial nymphs and among them was Alanka — the most beautiful, with dark silk-like hair and eyes reflecting the night sky. One night she appeared to him and from then on he saw her every night in his dreams, as if she danced on the walls.

Alanka brought him peace and spoke of stars and spirits inspiring Kashyapa’s ambitions. But one day, she vanished. Her image faded from the frescoes returning to the heavens.
Legend says that if you look closely at the frescoes today you may catch a glimpse of Alanka’s gaze, alive for a moment, just as it once was for her king

#AdishamBungalow, built in 1931, is often called the “Sri Lankan Chateau” due to its architecture resembling European castles. Located near Haputale, it’s surrounded by tea plantations and lush gardens. Fun fact: the bungalow once belonged to a British businessman, and today it offers a glimpse into Sri Lanka’s history 🌿🏰
