One week post hip replacement, I needed to get out of the condo. Grateful to my team of helpers - rallied on six hours notice - who are apparently willing to fill any request. We were supposed to be outside because it was 67 degrees out and I imagine the last night to sit outside until May, but Blackmoor inexplicably closed the outdoor bar and wouldn’t open it back up even for our group of 13. 😡 But it was still great to see everyone, and sorry some of you missed the photo.

An extra surprise Saturday #fridayflowers. I wish I could take credit for these beautiful dahlias, but they came from a dahlia share from @fiveforkfarms and my friend @katiealitz her vacation is my gain. I added some goldenrods and purple sage. #dinnerplatedahlia #perfection

The OGs (I was glad to learn that meant Original Gangsters not Old Geezers) and the teachers and Principal Davis hit the Warren-Prescott fundraiser. #warrenprescottschool

The mission of the U.S. Army Combatives Course is to train Leaders and Soldiers in close quarters Combatives in order to instill the Warrior Ethos and prepare Soldiers to close with and defeat the enemy in hand to hand combat. The Modern Army Combatives Program (MACP) started in 1995 with the 2nd Ranger Battalion and has spread at the grass roots around the Army. It has been incorporated into the new TC 3-25.150 and Basic Combatives is one of the Forty Warrior Core Tasks of the Warrior Ethos initiative.

The empty nesting was going quite well as I spent the day decluttering the house in anticipation of my decluttering session with Abby on Thursday (akin to cleaning for the cleaning lady), until I started sorting through the old memory sticks and came across these photos. The lesson: carpe diem. Ten years ago five of us went on a girls weekend that took years to plan and had so much fun that we vowed to do it annually. Seven years years later, we had yet to go on another girls weekend and had lost two of the five to cancer - Karen Gentis and Cheryl Waxman. My lesson learned? Say yes to everything! Miss them both so much, particularly this past year when my close friends have been so important to me. Just say yes! #cancersucks #carpediem
