How often do you tell people how much they mean to you? Or how they have inspired you? I’ve been trying to be more vocal about how much I appreciate the incredible people in my life. As an artist I find inspiration everywhere...the most obvious being my morning coffee order. But I am so thankful for the beauty industry for constantly inspiring me and reminding me to keep dreaming. I am so grateful for you all and I appreciate you more than you’ll ever know xx⁣

@thisonebird explains my WHY better than I ever could.

Please read below 👇
---
Recently IG recommended I follow @50_for_the_fallen. After giving the account a once-over I learned about their mission and saw that @50_for_the_fallen #50ftf had an event in my hometown of Atlanta. I shot them a quick msg to see if they wanted donations for snacks/hydration, or even any volunteers to support the ruck. @50_for_the_fallen said yes, and to come on down.

I showed up to the ruck starting point and waited to hop in one of the support vehicles. Just as we were fixing to head out Chad stopped me and asked why I wanted to volunteer. I told him about someone I love who’s military career has left him with significant #ptsd. I shared that our family had lost a cousin in Afghanistan in the GWOT. He respectfully asked about what my cousin did. My cousin, Patrick Kutschbach, was a Green Beret with 10th SF. Chad’s cheerful face fell in an instant.

What came next blindsided us all. Chad had served with Pat. They had received their Green Berets together. And, as my Aunt Debbie would point out, it was the exact anniversary of their graduation that day. Just a few feet away from me stood Bo, @dean_n_darrin_fit, who has dedicated himself to preserving Pat’s legacy and to seeing that his family always has someone in their corner. Bo, the very person who held Pat as he drew his last, precious breath so far from home.

Both Chad and Bo have worked tirelessly to ensure that Pat and his sacrifice do not fade away into obscurity. They say his name, share his story, and lead others on a journey to repair broken spirits and refocus fragmented minds.

Chad essentially founded @50_for_the_fallen out of Pat’s loss. I’m still in awe of it all and am processing how God brought us together (on Saint Patrick’s Day, no less). He clearly has a plan for us. Whatever it is y’all, I’m ready. @50_for_the_fallen you have my full heart, my eternal gratitude, and whatever I can do as a future volunteer. Much love ❤️❤️❤️ #50forthefallen #veteranshelpingveterans #veteran #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #veteransmentalhealth

Veterans, active duty, 1st responders and civilians coming together to remember and honor those who lost their lives here.

Their names and bios were read by our founder Chad between miles.

Very special thank you for Shanksville volunteer fire department for providing guidance and a homebase to refuel physically and mentally at our 20 mile or so mark. You all are amazing!
