“Going to the mountains is going home” | 25 yrs later but some things never change
—
I still remember my vivid, 5-yr-old joy of reaching the top of a large snow pile after my parents insisted visiting some mountain named Rainier. Never thought I’d come back to Mount Rainier to climb a (slightly) bigger pile of snow. So lucky to be part of the team that made the first successful summit ascent of Rainier for the season (and seeing RMI’s Brent Okita hit summit ~593 of Rainier!) First technical climb and real mountaineering of many more adventures to come and return home 🖤

Aconcagua update! After a quick Heli flight to the mountain, the team left base camp yesterday morning for C1 (Canada Camp). The team moved well and are feeling strong. This morning the team is pushing towards C2 (Nico de Cóndores), where they will spend a few days resting and acclimatizing before continuing on up the mountain.

Aconcagua is the tallest peak in South America and one of the renowned 7 summits. We’re stoked to be back on the mountain this season with three teams climbing throughout January.

Follow along for more updates, and Vamos team!!
