Last week, the Chipperfield team had the privilege of taking part in a Plenty of Plates dinner with @abetterlifevan

Together, we prepared, served, and shared a three-course meal with more than 80 residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. It was an evening of great food, meaningful conversation, and genuine connection.

At Chipperfield, serving others is one of our core values. It is reflected in the care we bring into our clients’ homes each day, but it also means showing up for our community with compassion, presence, and a willingness to lend a hand.

This event was about more than a meal. It was about creating space for dignity, joy, and connection—and recognizing that small acts of care can make a meaningful difference.

We’re incredibly proud of our team for rolling up their sleeves and showing what this value looks like in action. Thank you to A Better Life Foundation for the important work you do every day, and to everyone who donated and helped us raise more than $5,000 in support of this initiative.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that believes in caring for one another.

$What is there to say about @jehan.jiwa that hasn’t been said already? She is relentless, an inspiration, a LEGEND, and in the words of @hchickwick “a true fighter and warrior”! We have been incredibly proud to support you through your recovery (SHOUT OUT to @nanc.wang & @katiempat 🏆 Your dedication, perseverance and daily hard work has truly been an amazing thing to witness. And now, in Jehan’s words: ⚠️⚠️CW/TW: Physical trauma, car accident, graphic medical images⚠️⚠️ - Fractured femur, tibia, and fibula - 5 fractured vertebrae - 2 liver lacerations - Fractured thumb - 2 fractured fingers - Collapsed lung - Intestinal resection - Dislocated sternum - Severe internal bleeding It’s time to share my story, on my terms. The list of injuries is not my story. The ongoing journey to overcome them is. This journey has been the most challenging, rewarding, and beautiful experience of my life. My recovery is far from over, and I will continue to grind away until I come back stronger. To anyone going through any sort of life challenge: I urge you not to give up on yourself. Focus on the right things. Dig deep, embrace the grind, and don’t settle for being a victim. Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better, but if you put in the work and trust the process, you will come out stronger. Surround yourself with the right people who will walk the journey with you. Gain strength from them and from yourself, and just keep fighting. You got this!$
