Out of 683 players who hit the floor for a Class 4A volleyball team, @katiescheckel.vb was selected as the best in all of Iowa by the state's coaches in 2024.

Her talent is remarkable -- as a setter, hitter, defender, and server, I'm not sure I've quite covered somebody in 10+ years with that skill set -- and one who also excels in softball, basketball, and in shot put.

Probably the best part about all of this is that Katie has a kind heart and even when things are tough, never seems to have a bad day.

Even better -- I still have the great fortune of seven more seasons of "Scheck" on the airwaves and in front of my lens.

Congratulations @katiescheckel5 on a phenomenal season! The best is yet to come.
