$After the birth of his child, Sgt. David Cervantes, a Marine Corps Scout Sniper, finds himself unraveling. Haunted by a moment in combat where he failed to take a critical shot—putting his squad and himself in danger—he’s sent home and mandated to undergo a psychological evaluation. After multiple failed attempts with previous therapists, he lands in the office of Dr. Boucher, a former Navy medic turned VA therapist. Through a tense, push-and-pull conversation, Cervantes begins to unpack the trauma that’s fractured his identity as a Marine, a husband, and a father. The Cost is a raw and intimate look at the emotional toll of war and the power of vulnerability. It’s a story about healing, fatherhood, and the courage it takes to ask for help.$
