“Pressure doesn’t have to be carried alone.” - Heisman Trophy winner and Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams @ayeeecaleb

Expectations on and off the field cause athletes to face pressures that often go unseen. Through his collaboration with the Seize the Awkward campaign and @annenbergmedia, Caleb Williams reminds us that even the most accomplished athletes need people they can lean on.

Mental toughness isn't about taking on challenges alone. It's about building a strong and reliable support system, speaking openly, and knowing when to ask for help.

At @mindinsportfdn, we believe that mental health deserves just as much attention as physical performance. No athlete should have to struggle in silence.

You hear me on the air, but who am I?!
Hi! I’m Jayden, an aspiring sports broadcaster who studies at UIW! I played soccer for 15 years of my life before transferring to UIW to study communication arts. I work with UIWtv and the Cardinal sports production team. Being a goalkeeper for the majority of my life taught me a lot about strength and resilience and I’ve been blessed with the best people to help me through it all. Make sure to catch myself and Coop on ESPN+ for all things cardinal athletics! Can’t wait to continue this journey. Go cards! ❤️🎥👌🏼

Thursday at the Wellness Fair 💙 We hosted “Name Your Advocate” with @katiessave. Everyone wrote down someone they can lean on and pinned it to our board.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and thank you to Katie’s Save for allowing us to share Katie Meyer’s Story. Remember who your people are, and be that person for someone else. 🫶

As we begin Athlete Mental Health Awareness Week, we invite you to join the Text a Teammate Challenge.

One small text a day, five days in a row.
We will provide you the prompt each day.

You can use this as a daily opportunity to slow down, think about the prompts and which teammate comes to mind. Then, send the text.

Athletes spend a lot of time building physical strength together, but the connection between teammates is one of the strongest protective factors for mental health.

🥇Check our page for the prompts
🥈Send the text
🥉Tag a team or anyone you want to join this challenge

"The people who are smiling the most, loving the hardest, shining the brightest — sometimes they're going through things you could never imagine."

Naomi Girma wrote this for her best friend, Katie Meyer. It's one of the most honest things an athlete has ever put into words about grief, friendship, and why mental health in sport can't wait.

This Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, that's the reminder: you never really know what someone is carrying. Check in. Ask twice. Listen without judgment.

You don't have to carry it alone, either — visit athletewellbeing.org the Center for Wellbeing has free resources built for athletes, by athletes.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988, anytime, day or night.

Being an athlete never really ends. But the transition out of sport can be one of the toughest seasons of your life.

The numbers in this carousel are real and we share them because they matter. If you are a former athlete navigating identity, purpose, or anything harder than that, please know this community is always here for you.

Lean on the people around you. A former teammate, a coach, a family member, or a professional 🤍

If you or someone you know needs immediate support, call or text 988 or text HELLO to 741741.
