HOLOBIONT, a grouped group show
Berlin Art Week 2026

Only a few days after the Hamburg Art Week, the art week season continued in Berlin.

While our new space in Hamburg is still taking shape, Billy Jacob @billy____jacob, Director of Kollektion888, had the pleasure of serving on the jury for HOLOBIONT alongside curator Jan Gustav Fiedler @jangustavfiedler, Pola van den Hövel @guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurl, Director and Curator of Villa Schöningen, and art historian, critic and author Jennifer Braun @thegenzartcritic.

Following an open call with a large number of submissions, the jury selected the exhibition concepts that came together across RWK Studios during Berlin Art Week. 7 Independently conceived group exhibitions, each with its own curatorial approach and artistic positions, formed one temporary ecosystem.

Seeing what developed from that initial selection process has been particularly rewarding.

For Kollektion888, collecting has always been about more than acquiring works. Supporting emerging artists, creating visibility and contributing to the contexts in which artistic practices can develop are equally important parts of what we do.

Swipe through for impressions from HOLOBIONT. The individual exhibition titles, curators, participating artists and photo credits can be found on each slide.

euer 3CA Team 🤍

HOLODECK

In Star Trek, the holodeck is a room where images, information, memories and sensory experiences are assembled into environments that become real through experience. HOLODECK takes this as a metaphor for artistic practice: a space where existing elements are rearranged, new relations emerge, and something imagined becomes something you can walk into.

Across painting, installation, video and olfactory media, four painting positions build a visual landscape along the walls, joined by works that respond to the architecture and the sensory qualities of the hall. Analogue and digital image making sit side by side. Other works reach reality through the body and the senses, pushing the idea of the image beyond what can be seen.

With Aurora Carlucci, Bailey Keogh, Katja Breder, Linus Beckmann, Theo Goldbach, Leon Hofmann, Skyhoje, Delphine Wigger, Julian Rümenapf and Emile Lenoir.
Curated by Delphine Wigger, Katja Breder and Julian Rümenapf.

HOLOBIONT. A grouped group show during Berlin Art Week 2026.

From 8th to 13th of September we open parts of our production site in Berlin-Zehlendorf. 16,000 m², normally the working base of almost sixty artists, temporarily activated with exhibitions, performances, talks, tours and interventions.

First of all, thank you. The response to the open call went far beyond what we planned for, and saying no to that much good work was the hardest part of the summer.

The selection was made by our jury: Jan Gustav Fiedler, Pola van den Hövel, Billy Jacob and Jennifer Braun.

We went in looking for four exhibitions. We came out with seven.

Here they are. This carousel introduces the seven shows, the artists and curators, the jury and the 3CA team behind HOLOBIONT. Over the next days we take you into each exhibition on its own.

SAVE THE DATES
