World Premiere with the Göteborgsoperans Danskompani!
We are so happy and proud, the biggest contemporary dance company in the Nordic countries has resided for two weeks in the Theater im Pfalzbau in the German city of Ludwigshafen, to finalize the rehearsal of “See you Sunday” by the choreographic duo Sara Balzinger and Isaiah Wilson.
The season of the Festspiele Ludwigshafen had its opening last night with this world premiere and the German premiere of “We made a mess” by Boris Seva.
I had the big honor to hold an opening speech next to the mayor of Ludwigshafen and the prime minister of the state Rheinland Pfalz.
Big thanks to all the great artists and the team from Gothenburg, led by the opera house CEO Christina Björklund, dance director Katrin Hall and manager Liselott Berg. Thanks to the artistic director Tilman Gersch and his team at the Theater im Pfalzbau, who will present more great during the season.

✨ After winning the Swan last weekend for best Dutch Production, tonight the premiere of See You Sunday by Sarah Baltzinger & Isaiah Wilson for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani!

A beautiful example of how connections made at RIDCC can grow into something extraordinary, far beyond the official Awards.

Sarah & Isaiah were first scouted at RIDCC 2023 by jury member @katrinhall . In 2025, Katrin came to see their production Goats, the Production that came out of winning the XL Production Award, a co-production by Scapino Ballet and RIDCC. Inspired by their work, she offered them the opportunity to create a new piece for @goteborgsoperansdanskompani .

And tonight, that journey reaches its next milestone: the premiere of See You Sunday! ✨

We couldn’t be prouder of Sarah & Isaiah, and of the connections, opportunities and artistic journeys that continue to grow from RIDCC.

Enjoy this special night, @sarahbaltzinger_ & @saisaiwilson , and toi toi toi to the entire team! ❤️

The XL Production Award, made possible by support from @scapinoballetrotterdam and @droomendaad, has been awarded to @adamkhazhmuradov for ‘Attempts Left’. The XL Production Award is an opportunity to create a new work for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam presented on large and medium sized stages within the Netherlands.

“The jury perceived this work as powerful, original and daring with a clear and authentic artistic signature. Both dancers were sharp and greatly precise in performing the movement, which contributed to the strength of the work. The use of light, space and soundscape became an integral part of the choreographic concept, resulting in a complete work where all elements harmonized, which made the piece stand out. “

A big thank you to Kristin de Groot, Anouk van Dijk, Anna-Kay Alicia Gayle, Rupert Tookey and Katrín Hall for being this year’s jury.
