Another sold out show New York, thank you! Corny post below ‼️
A lot of people have been writing me about how I’m killing it in America, so at the risk of sounding cringe I’m going to write an emo post and be real with y’all - I’m killing it on stage, yes. But the move hasn’t been easy. Everything looks better on social media. I cannot count the number of times I’ve cried my eyeballs out and then went on stage couple hours, sometimes seconds later to make people laugh. Six months ago I packed my life in Berlin in two suitcases and moved to New York. I had always heard how tough it was to make it in this country but I had always underestimated just how tough it would be. Last six months have tested me in every possible way and I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve thought of quitting altogether. I cannot tell you the number of times I’ve woken up in survival mode, just remembering to take deep breathes and getting through the day. Don’t get me wrong, I knew I would have to start from scratch in a new country but I don’t think I understood just how tough New York could be. This city made me experience the best and worst moments of my life in a span of 24 hrs. I’m still here because I made some incredible new friends who I could lean on, reconnected with old ones across the country who took my calls at 2am just to hear me rant, some people who helped me in small ways that made a huge impact and some people who thought I was talented and decided to bet on me. What I’m trying to say is, if you’re out there having a bad day, do not go on social media and compare your struggles with other peoples instagram post, you don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes! If you’re feeling anxious, reach out to someone, don’t be afraid to lean on for support. Lastly, I want to thank every single person that has bought tickets to my shows. I hope I made it worth your while, and if I didn’t I promise to do better next time. You’re the reason I get to do this, and I never want to take that for granted. I have a few more shows left this year and I would love to see you there. Damn I hate being emo. Will probably delete this later. So like whatever, f-k you.
