POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In one magical evening, @katsi111 and I met @iisu_iisu_iisu the next great librettist.

And here it goes: an opera about dramatic fights, beauty, love, humour, and matters that literally touch us all, inside.

Paskaooppera - Shit, the opera!

The rest of the artistic team will be revealed later. #koneensäätiötukee

Birthday photo dump.

It was a love and friendship-filled day, with kindness, depth and sweetness as its common denominators (and some sass as always).

The universe brought me to connect with of lots of the heart-humans and critters who make me feel at home, wherever they are in the universe (and they are not all in the photos, to be clear). Thank you, 💘 friends 💘

A special thanks to my beautiful family for such a thoughtful all round effort to make me feel special 🥹💐

I am beyond grateful for the life I have.
And for all of you 💫

For me, 2024 was a year of new beginnings and new self-confidence. What I enjoy most, is diving deeply into a project and letting it evolve over an extended period, and this was possible thanks to the support by @koneensaatio 🙏

These were my most important projects in 2024, and I’m very happy that most of them will continue in 2025:

▪️ "LAULUJA MAANPAOSTA / SONGS FROM EXILE"
has taken its final (?) form as a one-hour solo performance for voice and harmonium, based on songs by B. Brecht, H. Eisler, and P. Dessau, written during their exile from Nazi Germany. The dark period of collective and personal German history doesn’t stop haunting me, and in the context of today’s society, it continues to take on new shapes and layers.

➡️ The next performances will take place on January 29th and 31st at @kokoteatteri ‼️

▪️ The opera "MINÄ/MINÄ/MINÄ"
marked the beginning of a multi-year, multi-stylistic work series titled "The Public Life and Death of Afrodite “Didi” Hakkarainen", by @hjhofmann . Combining opera, theater, social media, video art, and performance art, the series delves into the experiences of a neurodivergent individual navigating today’s complex society.

➡️ The next installment is already underway through the ongoing project @didihakkarainen . Didi will perform live again in August/September.

▪️Last year, @jukka_kaarijainen and I created our fifth sound art piece for @yleradio1 . "DAY AND NIGHT" is a 30-minute work exploring the experience of sleepless nights. I'm quite proud of myself, since, instead of my voice, I primarily used my jouhikko, field recordings and ableton for this one.

Jukka and I started to make these sound art pieces together in 2020. ➡️ You can listen to them on Yle Areena (Ääniversumi).

▪️I had the joy of starting two new improv duos last year: one with visual artist @idawilhelmina_ and another with sound artist @tomatom3 .

➡️ The German electronic music label @force_inc_music_works released a recording by Tom and me in April which is avalable on all digital platforms.

Thank you everyone who inspired me in one way or the other. Let's take care of each other this year!! ♥️

EARTH

"In its central position the Earth is the pivot for all of the other Elements which encircle and spin around it. It is a place of stability within the body, mind, and spirit. From this stable anchor, change and growth can take place. Our food can be transformed and processed by the Stomach and Spleen and turned into qi that nourishes the mind, body, and spirit” - Angela Hicks, Five Element Constitutional Acupuncture
