These new satellite images show the devastation that struck La Guaira, Venezuela, on June 24. These two images were taken just 39 seconds apart. Look at them. How could anyone survive that? And yet, ten days later, rescuers are still finding people alive.

What breaks my heart even more is that it was the Carabobo Battle holiday Memorial Day, a national holiday. Families were home together. They weren’t at work. They had already returned from the beach. Parents, children, grandparents, entire families were inside those buildings when everything came down.

From above, you can truly grasp the scale of the destruction. Entire blocks reduced to rubble in seconds. I cannot imagine what it was like to be there, trapped beneath the concrete, or to be one of the families still waiting for answers. It feels like hell.

The hardest truth is that many victims may never be recovered. Thousands of families may never have the chance to bury their loved ones, only to watch heavy machinery clear away the rubble where their lives once stood. There are few things more heartbreaking than losing someone without ever being able tosay goodbye. #venezuela #pride #devastation #terremoto #help
