There’s no place like home… and no place like the BALLET! 🌈✨👠

Girls’ night took us somewhere over the rainbow with @kc.ballet The Wizard of Oz, and WOW! What an incredible performance!

Seeing this Kansas classic brought to life through ballet was absolutely captivating. From the costumes and stage design to the choreography and storytelling, the artistry was something special.

But TWO moments completely stole the show for me! 👏

🌺 The poppy field scene. An absolute artistic MASTERPIECE! The colors, the staging, the movement… I was completely mesmerized. Visually, one of the most stunning moments of the entire production.

🧙‍♀️ THE WICKED WITCH! GIRL! That face card was EVERYTHING! The expressions, the attitude, the way she completely embodied that character. She was a force to be reckoned with and absolutely commanded that stage!

And can we talk about how lucky we are to have this level of talent right here in Kansas City?! As Kansans, The Wizard of Oz holds a special place in our hearts, and seeing our local arts community bring this story to life was truly magical.

This is 1 of 4 paintings I created for the Kauffman Center of Performing Art’s 15th Anniversary! What a MASSIVE honor to be commissioned by them back in March of this year to do this project. I got to go on sight and take around 400 photos inside and out. Then I let the organization pick which perspectives they wanted me to paint. This outside perspective is an absolute classic that they chose.

I may not reveal the new location for the Kansas City Art Mail Club YET. But at least I can finally share how this one turned out! 3 more to reveal in the coming months 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽.

I love getting to partner with institutions and businesses big and small around Kansas City to bring their buildings to life in my storybook style, watercolor art!

Proud to announce that recently retired @kauffmanfdn executive, Gloria Jackson-Leathers is the recipient of the 2026 Buck O’Neil “Heart of a Champion” Award. The award is presented to an individual or corporate partner for “outstanding support” of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and will be presented at Buck’s 115th Birthday celebration, 8 pm, Saturday, Nov. 14th at the Gem Theater!
